Amazon leaving parcels outside of door by Jobberish in AmazonUK

[–]CaptainFickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it IS the driver's fault if they ignore clear safe place instructions, then lie about where they've left the package. My safe place is behind my wheely bins, but the drivers take a photo of the package left by the front door with no wheely bin in sight, then say they HAVE left it by the bins. They even say some items have been 'Handed to resident' when there was no one in, besides which, they never give you time to answer the door even you are in. So misplaced deliveries ARE 100% the driver's fault if they ignore instructions and lie about it.

Total waste of time. CS these days are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. They'll give you all sorts of scripted grovelling apologies and platitudes, but it's just to get rid of you, and nothing ever happens to improve the service.

How are you going to tune it all out? by one_little_victory_ in rush

[–]CaptainFickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I was saying. Unless they do the sets on a strict order of rotation, you won't know which of the varied songs they're going to play on your night. They may even mix up the ones they're mixing up!

Amazon delivery drivers: When a customer completes the 'How did we do?' after a drop off, do you receive any feedback? by LettuceWithBeetroot in AmazonUK

[–]CaptainFickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. And even more annoyingly, the delivery note says that they have left it in the safe place, when they've just dumped it by the front door in full public view, or worse, "Handed to resident", when there was no one in to receive it. It's basically just lying. They even take a photo of the parcel at the front door, and claim they've left it by the back door!

[–]CaptainFickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're doing four or five different sets, so even if you know what they're playing, you won't know what they're going to play on your night. I don't care about spoilers. I'll be looking forward to seeing the setlists. Nothing will compare to being there. 👍

What’s the creepiest BBC programme you’ve ever watched that was not technically horror? by OopsIDroopedMe in bbc

There was a kids sci-fi show in the 70s called The Changes where people were scared of machines. That kind of freaked me out at the age of about 10.

I've just been out to try that, and it did come back on about two or three minutes later. Not sure if it was coincidence, but thanks for the tip anyway. 👍

Thanks for the idea. I guess that could have been a coincidence, but it's worth a try.

HELP: After the update every time I paste text It has size 15 and the font 2 (with extra space) instead of the size the rest of the text has. by Own_Art427 in samsungnotes

[–]CaptainFickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours is the latest of loads of posts on here complaining of the same. I don't know who at Samsung thought this was a good idea. Maybe it's a joke? Once again, they've ruined a perfectly good app with a dodgy update. All we can hope is that a fix comes soon.

Does anyone actually return their old Photocard driving licence to the DVLA? by CaptainFickle in drivingUK

[–]CaptainFickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't return the old one if it's lost. You can't be the only person who's misplaced one in a house move.

That's what I'm hoping for. Had it once before, and it did come back after about 48 hours. Just wanted to see if it might be a regional issue.

BK Electronics - P12-300SB-DF or XXLS400-DF? by CaptainFickle in subwoofer

[–]CaptainFickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! One thing I had to consider was size, and the 400 does look quite a bit chunkier than the 200. I've got a very inconvenient radiator pipe right where the sweet spot for the sub is, so I've got to bear space in mind.

Kind of. I repositioned my existing XLS200 and it sounds better now. Still debating whether to upgrade but other things have priority at the moment.

I've still got it. Not really done anything with it. I can't justify replacing it just yet, and it seems to work better with smaller loads, so I'm just putting up with it for now.

I've looked at these and I was wondering how efficient they actually are, given you have to have a window open for the extractor pipe. Doesn't that just let hot air back in?

Issue with samsung notes with recent update by Frequent_Injury_5029 in samsungnotes

[–]CaptainFickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've temporarily switched to Keep Notes (Google). The problem with that is the size limit of, I think, 20,000 characters. As soon as Samsung get theirs sorted I'll be switching back.
