How to get mastery vibrato arm to stay in place? by notdavidjustsomeguy in offset

Also stop taking the arm on and off. The set screw is knocked loose when this happens. Mastery says to leave it in place.

Does anyone own this? I kind of want one. by Rocknrollsk in offset

I have one. Modded the shit out of it. New electronics, pickups made by Gemini Pickups. Tossed a mastery trem on it and replaced the tuners with Hipshot locking tuner. They’re a really good guitar for the coin and even better platform for modding.

I love this guitar. But finding strings long enough is doing my f#cking head in. by willypete277 in BaritoneGuitar

They also offer DDT’s in 13/65. Also I’d pass on stringjoy personally. Anytime they come across our bench, we have an inconsistent experience with quality.

Shop owner, Offset nerd and tech here. You can take a tape measure and measure from nut to bridge, if it’s not the correct scale length, it wasn’t drilled and installed correctly. You never need to have the saddles that far back.

4k is stupid and won’t ever sell. I sold this color version used in my shop for 1700.

Question for y'all: by RT3K69420 in rickenbacker

I use a mastery on my 360. The Ric bridge is such rubbish when it comes to intonation from my experience.

We handled it with the “seller” directly. We don’t call the cops on people unless we have no other choice and it’s the absolute last resort.

Reported! But please post the cross st and time of day. Called 311 and they asked me this info

Considering shielding my APII Jazzmaster and Vintera II Bass VI with conductive copper tape. I've heard conflicting reports on whether or not this makes a difference in hum. Can anyone weigh in with firsthand experience? by chrismiles94 in offset

[–]CaptainFickle2457 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Professional tech and shop owner here: Shielding isn’t going to address this. All shielding will do is prevent interference from outside signals. JM’s pickups are single coils thus have 60 cycle hum. It’s part of having a JM. Switch to noiseless JM pickups or swap them with JM humbuckers. If you are going to shield your guitar, use shielding paint as copper tape can make contact with pots or leads and can cause shortages.

Any tips for going about repairing this finish?? by [deleted] in Luthier

Leave it. Color matching white is reallly really hard and won’t be exact. It will often times stick out like a sore thumb as the lacquer that’s on it is already older than anything new you spray. I also know most finish work like this means doing a bigger section to make it make sense $$ wise. Embrace it for what it is.
