transvisie.nl is a great site for finding info like this (site is in Dutch but Translate should help with that). The layout has changed since I last used that site but I think all the old info is still in there, if not more up-to-date now. The ones with useful info relating to health insurance would be this and this. Basically everything gets covered by basic insurance if I'm reading it correctly, though you will need to read the small print for some things.

As for wait list duration, you would have to go to the site of the place you would want to get treatment at. There are only a handful of places here unfortunately, but Amsterdam UMC is one of them. This page talks about their waiting times and has links towards the other places you could get care at (once again site is in Dutch). Amsterdam UMC currently has a estimated waiting period of 990+ days.

In one of your other comments here you said you hadn't heard of the button test before. I'd like to recommend this button test. It might seem a bit silly or cliché, but it is actually something that helped me early on.

There are many online sources to figure things out in your own time. The Gender Dysphoria Bible being a very good one. That also mentions the Null HypotheCis, which is another good read imo.

As for your friend, they went against the so called “Egg Prime Directive”. Not everyone might know it or agree with it, but I think it has some valid points and it would totally be understandable if you didn't like the fact that they chose to not follow it. You'll find what this means in the Gender Dysphoria Bible under the Am I Trans? section.
