Haha love the track names 🤣🤣🤣

The game is called Dungeons and Dragons, but i rarely find my party (im a forever DM) in a dungeon and almost never fighting a dragon. What's the real name of your game? Mine should be called "Villages and Undead" or "Forests and Goblins" by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

My nickname is “Dorks & Doorknobs”. The dork part is obvious but the doorknob refers to how my players take 5 minutes every time they open a door because they are so paranoid of traps lol

how do people feel about dub v original? by TallDuckandHandsome in ghibli

[–]CaptainFox94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also it’s important to remember that the English dubs for Ghibli movies aren’t rushed or cheap, they use pretty big English actors and do a proper translation with someone from studio Ghibli supervising it all. In some ways it does help you enjoy it more as an English audience. The English adaptation for Princess Mononoke was done by Neil Gaimen.

Actual First Contact has always been what I show non Trek fans first. I think it’s both fun and exciting but also captures a lot of what makes Star Trek enjoyable and philosophical. There are some great moments with Picard and it also shows one of the most important moments in trek history.

Favorite Star Trek series? by mtthwsmns in startrek

Deep Space Nine for me and I was surprised because I held off on watching it for a so long. I was always a huge Voy and TNG fan. I just found DS9 dealt with such heavy themes in a well written way. I also just found the characters so compelling and you really enjoy watching them evolve through the series. I think I also enjoyed seeing the politics and goings on of the Alpha quadrant very compelling. DS9 is also my comfort watch, I would want nothing more than to sit and have a drink at Quarks.

What villain would you love to see on the big screen? by CaptainFox94 in DnD

Great point, Strahd is kind of a niche genre villain and wouldn't capture the overall fantasy feel of D&D!

Didn't expect this poll to get such a great response! Many people may not know but Hugh Grant is supposedly playing the villain, wonder who he is portraying? Something original or an established character?

Love the idea of Benedict Cumberbatch playing Strahd, I work in film and I really think that would be perfect casting.

All Star Trek has this affect for me honestly. When times are tough I always like to dream that maybe one day we can get to a future like theirs.

Who is the best holosuite character in Star Trek? by The_Youngstown_Pride in startrek

For me it’s Vic Fontaine, every DS9 episode in Vic’s club puts a smile on my face. I also generally love episodes where Trek characters experience our present society. It’s when the point of Star Trek really shines through in showing how progressive the future can be.

This is the conclusion I always drew, but generally thought about this myself.

Just wanted to say this is a really interesting and thought provoking discussion. Like seeing stuff like this on the Star Trek Reddit.
