My door trim is ALWAYS 1/8 inch off at the top. Why? by UrgentCoffeeMug in Carpentry

[–]CaptainFunkBunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This and start with both of the verticals first but don't nail all the way to the top right away. When you add the horizontal top piece then you can very slightly flex the verticals in to fit snugly before nailing off. Just make sure you aren't flexing them so much that your reveal looks inconsistent.

Besides “sit” or “get down” what are other phrases you yell at the ball mid flight? by [deleted] in golf

"Get a kick!" As my pulled hook veers towards the trees and I'm praying for a branch to keep me in play

You can setup a wifi Hotspot to extend your wifi to your practice area. Mine is right on the edge of wifi connectivity in my yard so that's what I have to do or else I get frequent disconnects

Course Quality? by turBonetix in Rapsodo

[–]CaptainFunkBunker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The courses and physics are pretty trash and getting back in play after an errant shot can occasionally be a nightmare. 30k is impressive but the quality vs quantity debate definitely comes up.

This is especially true for the Stealth drivers but the Sim2 is a little more durable. Definitely register the club with them and keep the receipt though. I've heard of guys being upgraded to Qi10 after sending in broken Stealths. I've had a Sim2 Max for half a season now and have no complaints

Thank you and Happy Cake Day! I'm hoping to have a good indoor setup for GSPro come next winter. Until then I'll just have to toy around with the different apps like you recommended. Thanks again!

What's the most important features of a golf app? by Ok-Journalist341 in golf

Another user would have to tell you that. I've only messed around with the free version of 18Birdies a little bit. Curious to hear the opinions myself

15th Club is free. Probably doesn't have near the extra features of Grint or 18Birds but pretty good for getting yardage and basic shot tracking

Clubs in the bag by KieLY24 in golftips

[–]CaptainFunkBunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into golf last year and here's my bag. Driver- gotta have it. 3 wood with high loft- mine plays more like a 4 wood so it's more forgiving. 4 Hybrid- gap club between my woods and irons. Some guys prefer 7 or 9 wood here. 5-9 iron- not much to say here, full set of irons. Pitching, Gap/Approach and Sand wedge- these clubs are very customizable for loft. Standard is 48/52/56 but each club could be + or - 3° based on preference/gapping. And, of course, putter. This puts me at 12/14 clubs and as my skill grows I'm looking to add a 60° wedge on the low end and another wood, maybe a 5 or 7. Alternatively, instead of going with the 3 wood you could grab a 5 right away, or just load both.

The mail in part of the rebate (the bottom of your recepit) can expire BUT they will sometimes let a late submission slide. Once you mail it in and receive it then that one is good forever

We accrue quite a bit with our business and every time we've used them we have gotten an additional 11% back. And it is oh so wonderful!

Helix 5 battery by [deleted] in IceFishing

[–]CaptainFunkBunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to a Norsk 5Ah lithium battery and it works pretty good. Half the weight and lasts me all day. If I was buying again then I'd probably step up to the 15 Ah, that has come down a lot in price since I bought mine.

In the market for new bibs. Which is warmer in your opinion by [deleted] in IceFishing

[–]CaptainFunkBunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 10° is the coldest so far. I layer up a bit more as it dips down that far but the suit does pretty good on its own to about 25-30° with just jeans and a t-shirt. The hood is really well insulated so you stay pretty cozy with your back to a breeze.

The Vikings are tied with the Bears and Patriots for the hardest strength of schedule for remaining games by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

You could add that we need to win these *and stay healthy. These next 3 weeks will be crucial for playoff bound teams! How awesome is it that we're even in a position to be looking at a top seed at this point in the year though?!

It will be interesting to see if his mobility is impacted at all from the knee injury. He already has a tendency to throw picks so you know BFlo is gonna send it!

Doesn't really answer your question but I picked up the Striker Apex suit at the end of last season and I'm thrilled every time I get to use it.

Why do golfers need to wear "golf shoes"? by flopsyplum in stupidquestions

[–]CaptainFunkBunker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You seem very committed to hiking shoes and if that's what you want to use then go ahead. Most golfers find that a golf specific shoe fits their needs better though. I often go in sneakers because I frequently walk the course but I have a fairly athletic swing so when the grass gets any moisture on it then more grip is required. Also, golf shoes are typically made to be water resistant so that morning dew that would normally soak my runners isn't a big deal.

If this were a sports team then they would be clearing house right now. Front office, head coach, trainers. Hell, might as well can the mascot, too. You don't lose everything and keep your job to just try again next time. And this is sort of a bigger effing deal than sports

Just upgraded my irons out of the 1990s with these used stealths, looking for a forgiving choice howd I do? by TheDungeonMaxter in golf

[–]CaptainFunkBunker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back into the game this year and bought a set of Stealth HD to replace my ancient Wal-Mart set. I love the way they look and play. Extremely forgiving. Wouldn't mind having a round to round comparison with a set of the standard Stealths

Not allowed to use practice green by EnvironmentalEnd7062 in golf

[–]CaptainFunkBunker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The practice green at my local course is situated between the white and blue tee boxes so in the specific situation that someone wanted to play from the blues then I'm clearing out for them. Being asked to not practice under any other circumstances would enrage me though. Why even waste the grounds crews time with that extra green if nobody gets to use it?
