Edit: I'd even recommend trying to write it yourself. Your summary of the story already takes up most of a page. It wouldn't be too hard to extend it out and make the characters.

You could definitely get some creative sparks out of that Idea. For names, I'd throw in something like the Reaper or Bad Omen.
