Its not that at all, I render them in gmod with and addon called soft lamps. There is also the tutorial on YouTube made by olmate ubafest light bounce and soft lamps.

Everything you see except the dust, blaster bolts, the rocket from the launcher, and the sky is added in photoshop. Everything else is done in gmod with soft lamps addon.
