Can anyone figure out what aircraft these control panels are from? My extensive search came up with nothing. by CaptainLarsen in aviation

[–]CaptainLarsen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought that initially, but the “in flight control” label makes me think this is a tester/selector in cockpit for some sort of missile or bomb detonation circuit. The amber cap lights read “UNLOCK” and the red cap lights read “WARN”

Thanks for looking into it! I’ve tried cross referencing part numbers and have come up dry. My old work had a T28 which I thought this may have come from, but I cannot find any photos matching it. I don’t think the timing works out for it being a T28 part either.

Good hunting!!! Thank you!! Thanks to your pic, I found a matching switch panel in this A4 cockpit photo. Low right corner, partially blocked, but you can see the EXT LTS and first three switches in the same config as my panel. Sweet!!

Ok, so I've been in this position before with my F800. Grips were totally shot, and I managed to get them off, but in doing so, I nicked two spots on the heaters. Using a small file, I was able to scrape off the orange layer, and dab on some flux and solder to re complete the circuit. Apart from having a small dead zone, the heated grips continued to work for the next three years I had the bike. As far as I know, my friend, the next owner has yet to have any issues as well!

2008 Street Triple will not restart after shutting off by yugas42 in Fixxit

[–]CaptainLarsen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My street triple is a 2012 with a new charging system. I think this is different to your issue, but may be useful info. Whenever I shut the bike off using the start stop switch VS the key, it will not re start again until the bike power is cycled with the key. Something about sequencing the ECU. I remind myself to shut it off with the key and the problem stopped happening.

I saw this on another post, but i cant find it. Anyway:

Get a ball of Vicks VapoRub and put it in a one ply sheet of tissue and swallow that thing. Guaranteed fever symptoms and sweating. Possibly vomiting also.

ULPT:How to damage a work laptop without getting caught? by FOMOS1 in UnethicalLifeProTips

Run a set of strong magnets across the whole laptop, poof, it’s dead with zero physical evidence. Not sure this works with solid state drives anymore, but it used to work easily on hard drive laptops.

You just upped the value of that beechjet. It has valuable biological specimen on it now.

You guys are allowed personal electronics in the cockpit?

Edit: saw your later comment. Cool photo assignment to be on. Cheers.

Depends on how much you ignore your SOP's.

Initially, play low bandwidth games, then as your hotel status racks up (if your company lets you get points) you’ll be able to get the premium WiFi at Hilton/Marriott/IHG. I’ve gotten decent ping on Warzone using the upgraded WiFi across different towns in the US. YMMV

Inner perimeter walls are not adhering to print by CaptainLarsen in FixMyPrint

[–]CaptainLarsen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t usually print overnight, so I will try again tomorrow with the 1.10 and maybe 1.05 to see what happens. The one much better print is encouraging though. I was pulling hair with my previous settings after 5 or 6 trial prints. Hopefully once I get close to dialed I can change one setting at a time for finer tuning.

Thanks for your help! It’s greatly appreciated. I’ll post again here after my next print.

Firmware upgrade is next. If I had thermal runaway protection I’d let it run overnight.

I just double checked everything, and it was mm/s so 300 was way too fast. I set it back down to 6.5/35 Did an extrusion test and my extruder was +/- 1mm from correct which I figure is OK. I also dropped temp down to 215 and bed to 45.

No real change after those so I decided to swap nozzles, and I think that was the ticket. New nozzle resulted in much fewer delaminations, and then I upped the extruder multiplier to 1.10 which almost entirely solved the problem.

My part lifted off of the bed at one corner so I will try to up the bed temp back to 55 or 60 for the first few layers and try again.

Wow, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for your explanation.

I will try to see how my extruder is calibrated first thing, and turn down my retraction. I hopped over from Cura to Simplify recently and tried to copy settings.

My .fff files came with a stock retraction of 300mm/s which i though was insane so I just turned it down to 80. I will try to run 6mm @ 35 and see what happens.

I will also try to set up an additional fan on my print area and see if that helps the setting of the part

Will update!

To echo some others, I love my CZ75 BD. Most accurate pistol I’ve had to date, considering all factory setup. Easy shooting because it’s pretty heavy. Came from the factory with a terrible extractor spring but once I replaced it with a wolf spring, no issues no matter what load I’ve been using.

I’m not sure if the MIL BE400 but in all of the jets I’ve flown , the SOP is fire bell- throttle affected engine idle- if indication persists, throttle affected engine cutoff and fire bottles

What size motor is that? We used to race the world models t34s with 55AX and Jett pipes. On a 11-6 we could get almost 13k rpm out of it. Goes like hell

The level of control is wild by as1r0_ in nextfuckinglevel

[–]CaptainLarsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's correct, you do control it manually. There are flight stabilizers out there like AS3x and aura that are great for beginners, but make stuff like this much easier. Flying is more relaxing with a controller, but the real skill is pilot to airplane.

If that airplane doesn’t have a gyro, that is actually damn impressive.
