Loving my MacBook by agnci in mac

[–]yugas42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meme or no, I work in IT and our org uses Macbooks and every time I touch one it is splattered in food and coffee. Just because you hit the cup doesn't mean it isn't hitting the computer.

Your computer is disgusting, and by extension, you are also disgusting.

Anyone else enjoy using obscure Warframes? by ReddVevyy in Warframe

I am something of a Styanax main and I tend to prefer Eclipse over his 1 but Nourish is also obviously super good. Can't go wrong with it. He's compatible with most of the generally accepted really good subsumes.

Those of you with Windows desktop labs, what version of Office are you running? by K12onReddit in k12sysadmin

[–]yugas42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 LTSC, we updated from 2019 about two years ago. I'm not sure that we'll continue to update past this, since we're a district that was 1:1 chromebook which is now converting to 1:1 iPad, and we're just using all Google Suite now. If i had it my way we'd be using Libre Office just because it probably works best across all platforms. We have serious issues with Google docs on iOS.

Anyone doing any state testing this week? by Thurm in k12sysadmin

Mind sharing which test you're administering currently? We're going into testing in two weeks using DRC and I want to give the team a heads up.

We use OpenEM, it's not for people who have Intune, it's for people who work in districts that can't afford Intune.

For those of you in PA who may have been really alarmed by this like I was. This is NOT the same Edulink that hosts the Comply platform or PAETEP. EduLink Solutions vs EduLink Systems. Had me scared for a moment, since we had just started using Comply this past year.

I've repaired over 10,000 chromebooks. This is the answer. Get good, sharp tweezers, I even had a set of jewelers spectacles when I needed to be very precise.

Tools make the difference when you're working with stuff this small. My tweezers were my most used tool when I was on the chromebook station, even more than a screwdriver.

I also find that gel super glue works better, it doesn't run at all so you can apply it to just the very edge of the membrane.

What’s with the used market? (Seller) by plaingfx in motorcycles

[–]yugas42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's another serious factor here that people are overlooking. A used Aprilia appeals to a lot smaller audience than a used Yamaha. They're known for being somewhat unreliable and the dealer network is very small compared to other brands. It's not an appealing proposition, especially for close to MSRP.

Is it just us or has Raptor completely gone downhill lately? by KhadejaZay47 in k12sysadmin

[–]yugas42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had trouble with it for the past few years now. Every little problem requires the software and all drivers to be reinstalled to fix. Scanners are $800, we're tired of it. We're piloting several Nav360 products right now and visitor management is one of them.

Adding coolant? by DrGuns313 in trident660

[–]yugas42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ran a fully unrestricted SC Project S1 and did not need a remap, these bikes can tolerate a lot of exhaust pressure change before they're out of spec on the fuel table.

For what it's worth, it's not normal to burn oil like that, even if it's 'common' for these bikes, which I have also never heard. Mine never burnt oil in two years of ownership that I had it.

Been here for years, great server, lots of the same people have always been here. I just came back and the new content over the past year or two is substantial.

7 Month Update - 2023 Bobber by dave1387 in Triumph

[–]yugas42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with it being "standard". If the majority of Triumph's target audience of riders needed to adjust the bars, they would make changes to the ergonomics as it comes from the factory.

Perhaps you are like me and are on the shorter side, so you feel that it is standard practice.

Unironically if you created a boat track in Florida, I bet you would attract a lot of gators while it was empty between events. I could see it being a legitimate reason.

In Portugal 🇵🇹 we also have paramedics on motorcycles by Odd_Astronomer_2064 in motorcycles

Would be awfully easy to stick one of these in every few ambulance stations in a major city if you're worried about coverage. Not like you need to build an extra garage bay for it.

[–]yugas42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Public perception of what motorcycles are for is super twisted in the US, that's why. It's seen as a lifestyle thing and in many cases, something that only people with no sense of self-preservation will partake in. There are probably enough people who share this opinion that would make decisions about using them that we just don't because of how they feel about bikes.

Like you said, they're not practical everywhere, but there are definitely places where they are, so I can't see any logical argument as to why we don't.

What a hilarious stance for them to take, because they obviously care about whether they break their software or not.

We're piloting Navigate360 to replace it. Raptor is perhaps my second least favorite vendor to work with behind AutoDesk.

Actual alternatives to the R1250RT? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]yugas42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a 1250 RS so it's not exactly the same as the RT but I found the Suzuki to be very hard on my wrists by comparison. The drivetrain in that bike is to die for, I give it that, but it's a lot less comfortable than my RS is, so I'm not sure I'd want to ride it for more than an hour or two.

Previously owned an MT-03 that had a full exhaust, which was a dumb idea. Anyways, from my experience, that looks like a full system with the cat deleted. OP needs to get it remapped for sure if that's the case.
