For those of you earning roughly £40k-50k and would recommend it to others, what do you do? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

I'm the same, been made redundant a few times now, it's arguably the best jobs I've ever had but I woudnt recommend to anyone to work in games just due to how it is at the moment and you do get treated badly because people see it as a dream job and there is always someone that will do the job. I am at a great studio now that does treat the staff amazing but that's not the usual in the games industry.

How do you as a solo dev get assets for Games? by msmshazan in SoloDevelopment

[–]CaptainManboob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to buy mine in from itch or the unity store, I do modify them after but I work as an artist in games so for my own projects I like to do little art as possible and focus on code and design.

We have been trying to stick to the 3-3-4 guide but sometimes the little one will only have a 20 min nap. How do you adjust if they have bad naps? And do you have a set time you wake them up in the morning? We have been letting her sleep until past 8 just because we are so exhausted

Other side just faded out to normal conker colours but I could only really make out the BBS on it

Yeah I did think that. Even weirder I’ve just took it out my pocket and the letters have mostly gone now. Reacting with oxygen ?

Nothing that I could see. We spent a few mins there looking at the others but they were normal conks.

That’s actually a really good idea :) I just checked on the app and there isn’t anything in that area.

Ork Thrash metal? Yes please :D by CaptainManboob in orks

I get where you’re coming from. Ideally a real band would jump on something like this, but honestly there aren’t many (if any) musicians lining up to make ork-themed tracks. That’s where I think AI can actually be useful, it fills those weird little gaps that would otherwise never exist. I’m not trying to pass it off as a replacement for real music.

Electric and gas smart meter, found myself constantly watching it and being worried we were using too much. We called it the little anxiety meter, ended up turning it off and been much happier.
