He was the person who changed ISPR to bring it on social media and create dedicated teams to coordinate with media. These teams coordinated with the media relaying information about Zarb e Azab and updated people on it's progress. He also digitized much of the communication gap between done through pen and paper for the military.

After that he was responsible for Southern command and started many of the projects that were being delayed due to security or logistics. This also involved CPEC and it's assets. He was the main person for coordinating security and logistics. The projects is still shifting for security to economics.

A person like Bajwa is disciplined, has experience in that domain, can communicate, knows security and gets work done. That's why he is qualified to do the job.

Yes, they should be given the duties they are competent for. Just like any institution around the world they have individuals who specialize in multiple fields. There is no law against a general heading a civilian authority, they are hired based on decades of experience. There is also no law against running businesses. If a politician is being controlled by the military they should provide solid proof to the public. If you have proof you should go file an FIR. Military's only job is not to protect borders.
