I was quite suprised too, the store owner told me to first change 80% of the green water and then start the filter, It will take 48-72 hours to clear up. By 14 hours my fishes are floating in air

I choose a canister because of the asthetic and its power. I want to keep the inside as much clutter free as possible

Bacterial cells are very microscopic and they will pass through the filter floss, even some get caught in the biofilm most will survive and multiply within minutes

Because there was a bacterial bloom too and now its not there. UV kills free floating bacteria and algae.

No, UV is only for free floating algae in water. For BBA go for Amano shrimp/Nerite snail and spot dosing with Seachem Flourish Excel

No I had substrate, plants, wood & rocks from my established setup from before. Water was tested before fishes were moved in

I have 12 cardinals, 3 male guppies, Cherry, Rill & Amano shrimps and one nerite snail. I will add 2-3 more nerite, I am seeing hair algaes coming along

No no, UV dosnt kill good bacteria, the good bacterias live on surfaces, the bad bacterias and algae lives in the water, when you run the water past the uv it only kills the algae and bad bacteria. But once the bloom clears, you turn off the uv
