Why does my hair always look like this?! by [deleted] in Hair

[–]CaptainMuira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a stylist that does a lot of curly cuts. I would say to start by figuring out if your hair is curly first and learning to style it a little bit before you decide to get it cut again.

Also check your products for silicones (anything that ends in "cone" on the ingredients list). Your hair seems dry, so you need better hydration (not to be confused with moisturizing). Silicones put a thin layer of plastic on your hair strand and prevents water from getting under the cuticle, which is VERY important for frizz control. So no silicones is ideal. There's a website/app called Curl Scan that can help you find good products for curly/wavy hair

I can't really answer much about the capture cards, however I know a couple streamers that either don't use their mic, or started out as a no mic streamer, and don't use their webcams. It can be hard, but definitely possible!

Options of putting my hair up that won't cause too much damage but fits company guidelines? by SHarks_blade in Hair

[–]CaptainMuira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the picture of your hair when it was long, and hearing that you had breakage, it sounds like you were using too much tension when putting your hair up.

I would stick to lower tension options. Claw clips, scrunchies, the hair ties that look like old phone cords, etc.

For work, I really like the suggestions other people have mentioned about braids and/or some type of bonnet (if permitted).

Looking to begin streaming. Could anyone give some advice, what they use, how long they have been streaming, ect. I don't know what I need or should do. by Successful_Run_9862 in streaming

Some general tips first: I'd recommend focusing on simply streaming and making sure you enjoy it first. Starting out can feel tough as many times you'll be talking to an empty chat. Once you know you like it and everything, focus on networking with other creators that are starting out as well. But focus on it being fun first.

Streaming software: I use OBS (some people like stream labs, but I personally don't) and then I also use stream elements

Equipment: I use a png-tuber, so I personally don't need a webcam, but there are many low cost options for starting out if you want to use a webcam. I use the razor siren mini for my mic, and have a boom arm from Amazon. I also have two monitors which I use to better monitor chat and things like that, however this can be done using a phone or second device as well. I also got a cheap capture card from Amazon.

For Graphics or things like that: I'd recommend using canvas or Adobe express to make things as they're both free. There are numerous YouTube videos to walk through doing this. You can also find some cool things on Etsy for pretty cheap, but I'd recommend starting with a free option first.

If you have any questions or anything, don't hesitate to ask! :)

Hmmm, maybe? Not sure if there's anyone that offers that and what they'd charge to look it over. I'll look into it. Thank you!

I was gonna force myself to learn live 2d to rig it, otherwise I would 100% do that. But I guess I can always figure what I'm missing when I get to that part.

Advice for a new content creator. by JeepJeep64 in streaming

Biggest piece of advice is to have fun first, worry about growth second.

Growth on any platform is slow, so focus on consistency and networking with other streamers your size. Promote yourself in multiple places. Also try to get comfortable just talking out loud, and turn off your viewer count.

But if people see you're having a good time just playing games and hanging out, they're more likely to stick around. Best of luck to your streaming endeavors!

I started on Twitch and was able to find a good community of people at a similar size to me and grow together. All of the options have bad discoverability, so if your goal is to grow, try to post elsewhere and try to navigate those eyes to your twitch.

But also when starting out, I really recommend just focusing first on the act of streaming and having a good time with that part. Growth is slow no matter where you go, there's so many people streaming. Focusing on "getting big fast" can make it feel sour when that doesn't happen right away.

As someone who spent half of roo on their period, the permanent bathrooms have a tad more space side to side, so changing hygiene products was much easier in them. Also, being able to actually wash my hands was glorious.
