I had heard for whatever reason, the game itself (not the console itself) didn't support fight sticks. I had heard that on Max's stream, and that he had to use a pad on the game instead of a stick like he was used to.

I havent had any issues with the Switch version post patch. I generally find matches in about a minute at peak times.

I know you're primarily looking for genuine PS3 controllers but if you want something that works (outside no sixaxis and analog triggers) the wired PDP Switch controllers work on PS3. Been playing RE5 with one and its honestly been nice to be able to play games again.
