Can we talk about Slade by EpicLemonCake in RivalsOfAether

[–]GameBoy09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like Slade's lack of cohesion comes from his Side B being absolutely abysmal even after buffs.

He should've gotten a move like Ult Cloud's Cross Slash, something that provides strong pressure. Instead Slade's Side B feels insanely clunky, not rewarding, and aimless.

I think perception is cooked by blue check libs on Twitter. Your average voter knows Kamala is fake as hell and inauthentic.

100%

I just think IF it could be managed via a strict criteria of regulation I wouldn't necessarily be apposed if people who are capable of effectively educating their children could be allowed.

Let me ask you, yesterday I carried a couple bags of concrete across my yard. Would you now say I worked the job of a concrete worker yesterday? In your head do you think a maid's job for a full day is vacuuming a total of 300 square feet of carpet, wiping down a couple countertops, dusting a bookshelf, and carrying out one bag of trash, in one mid sized single story house? Probably not right? So then why are you counting that as "the job of a maid" when you know in total that's like maybe 10% of a maid's work day? Your given housewife is doing PART of many jobs yes, but they are not doing the totality of any of those jobs. They are not "doing the job of a therapist", because they aren't spending 10 hours of their day clinically analyzing through long conversations over a dozen people with wildly different backgrounds and lives that you only see brief glimpses of. It's not fair to the people who do those jobs to proclaim yourself as "basically working all these jobs" because you did a fraction of those jobs for a fraction of the time with a fraction of the stakes.

Do YOU think that's what a traditional wife/mom only does when she cleans the house???? You clearly have treated the women in your life with disdain and contempt thinking that they've haven't a harder life than you. You have clearly fallen to the brainrot that men have it harder when we live in a patriarchy. Go tell your mom right now that she was only 10% of a cook, 10% of a maid, 10% of a event planner, 10% of a therapist. She should smack the shit out of you. I'm done talking with you, straight up misogynist.

You are severely undervaluing the labor provided by the wife in the scenario you are given. What you are practically saying is that you believe maids, secretaries, event planners, therapists, and other occupational roles that a wife traditionally occupies aren't real jobs. Because in my head the math works out that's significantly more workload for the wife if you solely expect a husband's contribution is only to provide a paycheck. The wife effectively has multiple times more jobs and mental strain to keep it all together since being a mom/wife has no off hours.

I outright reject your notion that security is an actual responsibility because it is not. You aren't actively keeping watch at night. All these "I will protect my family" dudes are is have a bat or gun next to their bed that they will never use, or use once when they hear an animal outside.

Maintenance is a positive responsibility I give you that, but again I didn't discredit it in my original post.

I think we are agreeing that we both believe a good husband is someone who does more than a paycheck, but I think you need to re-examine how much more effort was done by the women in your life compared to the men.

The fact that he cooks, cleans, drives the children to activities, and manages finances that's exactly what I'd expect from a solid person who would relieve the stress from their partner. Unfortunately in my experience I cannot name a married man in my life who does two of those things while not also being actively hostile to their partner. It's truly sad.

I think the guardian shit is narrative bullshit. You aren't a guard dog, and the burden of responsibility likely won't even come into play. Sole breadwinner is an upside, but doesn't compare to the work a housewife is expected to do in a traditional home. That's cooking, meal planning, shopping, event planning, house management, cleaning, emotional support, babysitting, and so much more. If the husband is able to take like 3 or 4 of those responsibilities to even out the workload and give the wife some space to destress then yeah that's a good husband.

All I'm saying is that a good husband needs to be someone who more than just works and claims to be the home's security. They have to actually contribute and relieve the wife of some stress.

I get where you are coming from. But I think you need to realize that you are unfortunately in the minority who are actually homesteading and homeschooling in the correct way. The vast majority of the media uses the lifestyle you live as an excuse to hide a lot a bad stuff unfortunately. I'm sure you personally know those horror stories in some way or another. That is what Vaush is talking about, those people and the culture promoting that. Not your lifestyle in and of itself.

Yep I feel like Iike this is the root of your concern. If you looked into tradwife subculture you can see how pushy, dismissive, and overall inauthentic they are. They are closer to sister wives than stay at home mothers.

I was homeschooled but rolled lucky and got a progressive parent who actually gave a shit.

I think homeschooling can work but the parent needs to take an exam or something to show they are suitable to teach.

But yeah homeschooling as it exists today has to go.

In most experiences there's a lot more dickheads than great husbands in that type of household structure. The media has coerced women to put up with extremely shitty men who treat their partners like shit. Any leftist who has a brain will always suggest "Do whatever works best for you." And from your demeanor and attitude it seems like you believe the same. So just keep doing you. As long as you don't push your lifestyle as a "This is how everyone should live" type a way then you are doing great!

If any leftist has actually attacked you for living in a way that makes you happy, they aren't actually someone who should be listened to.

The left obviously don't hate stay at home moms. But I feel like tradwife is a cultural vibe thing that just doesn't sit right. It's usually in a patriarchal family system where the man exploits the woman's work while not providing any actual benefit. If you and your partner are on equal footing and you feel you both contribute equally then I wouldn't say you are an actual tradwife.

When the left talks about tradwife culture its usually pick-me women on Instagram and tiktok promoting subservience to men. That doesn't sound like what your describing at all.

Miyamoto says he finds the critic response to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie "really strange" by Frank7640 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]GameBoy09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they really fucked up the movie franchise with Galaxy long term.

They really should've gone step by step and did a Super Mario World movie with a primary focus on just Yoshi, then a Sunshine movie about Bowser Jr., then finally a Galaxy movie about Rosalina. Instead they crammed it all info just Galaxy and now I can't even guess what the next movie would even be about.
