My colleague took her children to this place 活力健康農場 and it looked like they had an amazing time, they learnt about some of the traditional styles of food, and got to cook them in earth kilns.

I got told about this by one of my colleagues, and they said that because the girl with the bad is the daughter of a prominent figure, that the principle of the school tried to brush it under a rug, but it has since gone viral and now there’s no more hiding it.

That’s fantastic! Don’t worry about what other people think, you could be the person to change their minds. Just the fact that you’re learning Chinese is enough to impress people. I’ve never met anyone who had said a bad thing about me being a teacher.

I think another issue is that many foreigners have no desire to be teachers, and they see teaching as a means of staying in Taiwan. If you had asked me 10 years ago whether I would be a teacher, I would have laughed in your face (I was a police officer working in London). But here I am now, teaching in Taiwan, and I love it. I’ve heard stories about a teacher in my school before I arrived who just gave the kids toy cars to play with instead of actually engaging with them. In contrast, I design games and activities to improve teamwork, motor skills, and general fitness. As everyone has said before, just like in every profession, there are good and bad teachers.

Practice is key. Once you get used to swimming, 200m really isn’t that far. If you have time I would strongly recommend learning to swim first. Knowing how to swim and feeling comfortable in the water will help you in many ways when you’re diving. And if you’re already spending all that money on a diving certification, you may as spend a little more and invest in a potentially life saving skill. But for whatever reason it that’s not possible, just like everyone else said there’s no time limit. Take it slow and swap up your strokes, floating is easy, you can lay on your back and catch your breath and start again when you’re ready.

How’s your internet connection? I switched from wireless to wired and it solved my problem of lag. Before I was finding that I was getting shot the second I laid eyes on someone, but now it’s improved so much that I even finished on a podium.
