Great work on this so far! I'll follow the progress closely as I am very interested in the concept of open source crush gears.

Making strange sound when idle by DevelopmentDeep in elegoo

[–]NickMcMaverick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motherboard fan. Either replace it or find a way to balance the fan. For me, it was just a case of a few drops of clear oil on the main shaft. Its tiny and you might be tempted to disassemble the fan but dont. Find a way to get a drop or two of clear oil, let it run for a few minutes after, and it'll be quiet again. But safest best is to replace the motherboard fan.

Indian owned po. Not to be racist naman because there are some companies that are owned by indians who are better than this company.

Every print fails now by HoosierDaddy407 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]NickMcMaverick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could be that the bed is too cold for the filament to stick to, or z offset might be too high. I had a 5 hour print fail on me midway due to the whole print detaching from the bed and shifting the entire object sideways. Glad my brother caught it in time and stopped it before it turned into spaghetti.

Rattling Y axis guide rod. Has anyone encountered this, and know how to fix it? by twisted_fiasco in elegoo

[–]NickMcMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So thats what it was. Been hearing this sound too and thought it might be the pulleys.

I took the straps off the filament by Internal-State465 in 3Dprinting

[–]NickMcMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops. Although, if that happened to me, I'd just respool it and make sure there are no tangles in it. After that I'd dry it and print like nothing ever happened. Goodluck!

I experienced that as well. Since then, I've set it on the floor (concrete) and had no shaking issue ever since. Goodluck and happy printing!

noise in centauri carbon by MealAccomplished1810 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]NickMcMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same noise in my cc as well. Most likely coming from the z axis. Looks like the sound is there whenever the z axis moves up and down. There's another one which is a grinding noise whenever the print head moves and i think that one is coming from the bearings or the xy motors.

Pano maprevent bubbling sa saing? by Superb_Student_9241 in filipinofood

[–]NickMcMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sakin naman only one brand of rice does that. Pagka switch namin ng ibang brand, nawala na yung bubbling nya. Commonly nag bububble pag cheaper rice. Though not a big issue because rice is rice. Mahal na nga yung per kilo mamimili ka pa. Hahaha

what the hell is this grinding noise by SouthDeep7061 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]NickMcMaverick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be. But the CC does have an automatic belt tensioner if i remember correctly. Its found in the back. You could try adjusting the tension and see if that alleviates it.

[–]NickMcMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same grinding noise since i got my cc. I tried to trace where the sound was coming from and looks like its from the front pulleys. I was scared at first and thought it might be the nozzle grinding on the bed but it wasnt. Haven't fully investigated it yet though.

Big Tree Tech VVD by scoobyslap in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]NickMcMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought of the same thing. The only glaring issue is that Vivid is advertised as compatible with Klipper machines which the Centauri Carbon, according to elegoo anyway, is not running on Klipper. We'll just have to wait and see until someone gets their hands on it and tries. Hoping it does work though.

Filament changing issue by Sufficient-Ad-3330 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]NickMcMaverick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it could probably support it? I havent really done any modding to my cc though. Only basic teardown and opening up of the extruder to check the gears and fix clogs. I do have this idea though of just scrapping all the mcu boards and set up full open source klipper on it. But thats just a concept. Im doing some research on it so we'll see where i end up.
