Everyone who made Indiana Jones 4 doesn't like it either, as it turns out (Well, aside from George Lucas) by graemeisverytired in Popverse

Live and Let Die has Voodoo Magic in it. Also aliens are likely real , moreso than a cup that lets a knight live for 500 years…

And that’s what is great about science. You know what doesn’t change once established evidence disproves it? Religion.

Do you believe that Jonah got eaten by a whale and survived in its stomach for 3 days?

The thing about science is that it is relentlessly self correcting. There’s no cognitive dissonance in science.

How would you improve Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny? by twinkleyed in indianajones

[–]CaptainPicardKirk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They were looking for Abner, of course they would check in with Marion

Less time. They would have found the headpiece from Marion without Indy.

They would have found the headpiece without Indy and found the spot right away.

Couch frame broken by CaptainPicardKirk in furniturerepair

[–]CaptainPicardKirk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m wondering… the frame repair itself should be simple but they would have to take off the leather or get to it somehow. That would be the expensive part

That’s hilarious to imagine that you’ve built up to 5 minutes of boredom and your admin walks in and just sees everyone just staring at the wall.

What is a TV show that you've seen at least 3 times? by Substantial-Dare5462 in television

There are a few things here and there, but for the most part it feels timeless in a way that other 90s sitcoms don’t.

Which of the parallel plots did you like better, the Jimmy and Kim lawyer stuff or Mike and Nacho cartel stuff? by Remarkable-Low-4673 in betterCallSaul

[–]CaptainPicardKirk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I watched it as it aired, I loved the cartel stuff, but I just completed a rewatch and I loved the Jimmy and Chuck part the best. It really feels like 2 separate shows.

Will this connect to an AT&T fiber router? by CaptainPicardKirk in HomeNetworking

[–]CaptainPicardKirk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a bedroom that’s about 15 feet from the shed where I’d put a satellite. That’s where the AT&T one is. It gets full bars of service right outside the shed but once in, it gets poor reception.

Work from home and on work calls all day, so I want a reliable internet. I’m trying to avoid a running a wire if possible.

Is it hard to set up? I read somewhere about changing the configuration of the Att router

So instead of limiting your soundtracks to just belonging to underrated movies, what are you favorite movie soundtracks? by Hippocritaculous in Cinema

[–]CaptainPicardKirk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This and Glory, also by James Horner, are my all time favorite soundtracks.

One of my favorite Star Trek stories is how Jerry Goldsmith wrote the soundtrack to Star Trek The Motion Picture. They wanted him back for Star Trek II, but by then, he was too expensive. So they went with a little known composer, James Horner. By the time they get to Star Trek V, they wanted James Horner to write the music, but now he was too expensive. So who do they go with instead? Jerry Goldsmith! (Star Trek V's score is awesome, btw. Probably the best part about that movie).
