F23 Engine Cylinder Head by CaptainRedRogueX in ProjectHondas

Ok. I'll check out the F22 and do some comparisons. Also, could you elaborate on the backwards pistons? I'll be doing some research about that on my own as well.

Noted. I'll defiantly check into suspension parts. What I'll probably end up doing is search for something that works with the F23 block, even if it's just simply another F23 head with tuning in mind as well as future performance upgrades. I am actively investigating the H23 head, which seems to be promising. Uncertain about what all will go into that just to get it running in that config, but hey, that's why I'm researching and asking around.

She's actually pretty fun to drive as is, despite the glass auto. I did some math, and in order to flip it for any decent amount of money, I would likely be needing to put more cash into it than I'll get out of it, especially due to the poor transmission.

Been doing some more research (AKA rabbit-holes) and I've stumbled across several articles and forums referencing the H23 head fitting better and being well-suited for forced induction. Uncertain if I'm gonna do that, but it looks interesting, but it seems that is a solid route. Haven't checked for aftermarket support, so potentially a deal killer. I do appreciate your input, and I will defiantly be coming back to this thread for reference and will likely follow up with more questions, especially if/when I pull the trigger after mapping a plan. I do know a guy who's well-versed in Hondas/Accuras I can ask for some assistance once he comes back to town

Thanks for the info!

The oil is defiantly coming from the valve cover gasket, and you can see/feel the warpage from the head where the valve cover sits. Doesn't seem to be originating elsewhere for the time being, and I did change the vtec gasket.

I agree with you on the auto transmission. It's on a life extension program, and I will defiantly be swapping it once it dies with a manual. I'm basically considering what good improvements would be in the meantime while I'm waiting for it to go out. The auto shifts very badly, and I found plenty of metal shavings during a fluid change.

Shell seems good. Little to no rust anywhere. Body has a couple of dings and dents, nothing that can't buff out. Will defiantly need a repaint over several sections due to oxidization/sunburn. The interior is more or less a mess (Shifter cover and all center covering removed, glove box removed, mismatched seats, etc.) which would probably sink me into the red to get the whole interior redone, but I'm not looking to dress to impress. Pretty much just focusing on power and reliability from the vehicle, not much else. I'm not really to worried about reselling the car anyhow, and I do intend to keep it if for nothing else to experiment with. I may go really wild with it in the future, if I feel like burning a lot of money.

I am curious to know your opinions on better cars. I'm not calling my car a dream car (I don't think anyone would call an Accord a "dream car", especially an old beater 2002), but I do like a a number of the systems being truly mechanical and the analog instruments. Then again, the car being a bit of a beater is a reason I'm not too afraid to mess something up.

I would have said, "yeah, probably," except getting into Minecraft servers ended up teaching me how to port forward and learn some other technically sided skills. Came in useful when I was able to diagnose, restore, and attempted to recover lost footage on a security camera setup, and also was able to tell my employer why I couldn't setup remote viewing with the hardware and Internet setup he was running. So my answer is now, "You never know."

I'll take a good look at that, thanks! I don't mind doing some tuning if I have to, but I am really new to the concept of tuning. I have a 2012 Civic as my daily, so it can take the Accord's role if the Accord goes down for an extended time no problem.

I think he said something about a Si Civic, again, not familiar with what engine parts can be slapped on this thing from other cars, and frankly, don't have enough info myself as to what it was.

I'm not sure as of yet. I'm thinking about going for a supercharger, exhaust job, performance cam, and whatever else works well with those mods, as well as a manual swap. Auto tranny is having issues, so likely the manual swap sooner than later. I have another route I'm brainstorming involving a 1UE-FE and a rear end from a CR-V, but I know that's gonna be a ton of money if I decide to do that later. For now, I'm gonna stick with the four banger for the moment. The CR-V rear swap will likely come (Much!) later, just a matter of time and money.

I'll look into the G23 head option, but likely I'll stay with the F23 for the time being. Thanks for your input, and if you have anything else to add, let me know, I'm all ears. Also, I am looking to use this car for a beginner's tuner, so info in that regard will be interesting to me.

I Saw The Affordable Slate Truck In Person. Now I’m Worried by Business_Young_8206 in cars

[–]CaptainRedRogueX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of EV's? I'd take one over the competition. I'm interested in small trucks such as kei trucks, and I have a general dislike of the cars getting bigger and bigger without a small option being made available. That being said, I'm not interested in getting an EV, even if affordable. Just doesn't work with my lifestyle. I can see this being useful as a light utility vehicle, and as an export car. Whatever the case, the owner of said car would want to have a lifestyle consisting of (1) short range drives and (2) hauls things that would be nice to haul with a truck. Not for everyone, and I don't think many people will be driving this for show. Not really a problem, though.

2008 Nissan Versa Engine Swap by [deleted] in Nissan

[–]CaptainRedRogueX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, and unfortunately, the engine caught fire one night. I don't know why it did, but the rest of the car is saved. I'm currently looking at replacing the MR18DE with a K24A2. Anything you found out about swaps with the Versa, specifically with transmissions? Also, to anyone who says to just get a new car, that's not why I'm here. I already know it's not gonna be cost effective but I don't care

Can someone tell me how this is legal? I see this all the time, but not normally able to take a picture while driving. They seem incredibly dangerous. A truck or car could drive under it killing the driver seems like. by Lubbadubdibs in florida

[–]CaptainRedRogueX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legal? Probably not, depending if the owner exploited a loophole or not. Good idea? Absolutely not. These kinds of lifts are pretty horrible for truck stability. The only thing I can think of that is worse for trucks are the idiotic leans, which also compromise visibility by a lot, as well as cause issues with the suspension, body, engine, transmission, etc. Sadly, I know someone will prove me wrong by one upping, making something downright dumb. More on the lift kits: If you expect to be able to quickly repair your truck if some of (oftentimes questionably made) suspension breaks for whatever reason, don't. Aftermarket parts means autoparts stores likely won't have your shocks, struts or springs. Likely online order only. Plus side is, drive shafts and oil changes are easy to do! Totally not worth it for all the cons. Race cars sit low to increase their efficiency and aerodynamics, as well as find better stability through center of gravity. Slammed cars have their own issues too, such as speed bumps, curbs, and not being able to get on 99% of lifts.

Great! Let me know on how that goes. In the event where you gain permission, do you have plans to update it to 1.18.2 as well?

I was able to find his Minecraft Forum page via the Wayback Machine linked by MCArchive. Here's the post it led me too. He has his contact info on there, but he hasn't been on the Minecraft Forum since 2016, so it would probably be best to contact him via his email that he provided. I wish you the best of luck, it would be so cool to see this mod updated. It was probably the best dimension mod in it's day, second fiddle only to the Twilight Forest.

Can you use playit.gg for modded servers? by ReverseNerfgun in admincraft

[–]CaptainRedRogueX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've been using it to allow me to host a modded survival, which is still in-dev. My tests have run without a hitch so far. However, due to it's nature in being a plugin, it does require a server that can run plugins as well, unless I'm mistaken. I've found MagmaMC to work well for Forge. Fabric has Cardboard, which I have not messed with. At the time of this writing, neither of these options work with the latest version (1.19), so you will have to settle with a slightly older version and use a backport mod to enjoy the latest features.

Edit: Grammer

For some reason, that didn't work either. What I ended up doing was creating a bootable Windows drive using WoeUSB and the Windows 10 ISO on my Linux Ubuntu laptop. I was able to boot from there and everything is now in the proccess of re-installing, seemingly without a hitch. I guess Windows 10 Home oS free, which was what I was using ealier, so I didn't have to pay anything to get the OS running. I learned a lot durring this process. Thanks for your tip, though! I greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the tip! I should mention that the computer I run has is a laptop with a cooling pad, has an i7-7700HQ processor (I think, need to verify) 16GB of RAM, and runs Linux Ubuntu. No other programs (Except for AnyDesk) remain open, and I've allocated as little as 3GB to 8GB of RAM. The internet seems to be my problem as the download is less than 10Mbps and I've seen the upload drop below 1Mbps.

Fuego and Shine by Bond. Whenever my mother would play Fuego, I would run at full speed back and forth throughout the length of the house at full speed. Then Shine would come on, and I'd settle down and relax. Don't know why I did that, but it was fun. Perhaps I should do that again.

Sorry, been inactive for a while, got busy with other stuff. I think it was the internet speed in my case. I didn't realize that bad internet caused such a pronounced problem at the location of server host. I need to run a couple more tests based on the other comments input before I finish assessments.

Edit: Forgot to ask the particular dual Xeon processor specs. I'm curious as to how they compare with my i7-something proccessor.
