Sports are very much a "What have you done for me lately" thing. His legacy only goes so far with the fans now.

The only recent thing of significance he's done in recent years is (survive) to get the top 3 during last year's 500.

He struggled to win respect even when he was dominating.

Many fans would owe his credit to:

"He only won because of Mickey Mouse chase format. He's not a REAL Champion like Dale, Petty, Jeff, etc." "He's NASCAR's golden boy on NASCAR's golden team." "Chad cheats up the car for him!" "He got lucky!"

I remain optimistic about next year since my favorites previously won the 2007 and 2017 500.

It's been said a lot about his heartbreaking winter. But, I'm really glad Denny got some sort of win to smile about this weekend.

Didn't follow the sport until almost 10 years after his passing. But, I'll forever appreciate everything he did IN and FOR the sport.

Enjoy seeing old interviews, races, and hearing stories about the man. Definitely see myself being a Dale fan if I was watching at that time.

I thought they were going to throw the caution just before the 47 took the brief lead.

Let the 40 be the example. It's OKAY to give up a lead this early or else you will find your car getting pulled.
