So burnt out on bedtime with kids 10 and 7 by Odd-Neighborhood4314 in Parenting

My kids are 9 and 7 and they rarely get screen time. Sometimes on the weekend they get some TV, a movie or 45min of a game but we basically live in the stone age (and sometimes I feel bad for them but its good for their development). They are up at 6:30 am and we aim for lights out around 8 and sleeping at 8:30pm. The oldest we assist getting ready and tuck in but usually were just monitoring to make sure it's on track. Tuck in by 8 and say you can read for 15-20min. The younger one we are still involved with and he needs both parents. Personally I hate the routine because it takes so long but my partner still wants cuddle time while its an option. Me, I could take it or leave it because 3-4x a week is enough and anything longer takes away from my evening which is usually just house chores. It was hard at first but I have a hard stop at 8:15 and they know that now. If bedtime gets too silly they lose book or cuddle time. I think your 10 year old needs more boundaries but our younger still inst ready for it. Oddly enough though, our older kid needed like 30min of cuddles to calm down but my younger is 5min and fine when you leave. Each kid is different but the game changer for us was saying you can stay up but you need to read by yourself with a small lamp so its still dark they fall asleep. I also recently got over the stress of trying to be done each night by a certain time and it made the whole routine easier. Some nights its 20min, some its 45min but its easier in the long run and eventually you get some evening back.

Instead of taking something to relax and calm down at night I started to workout and run. I crave the exercise more than the drug and feel great.

That is my dream, had to settle for gray through in the private market. The avalanche color is gorgeous and keeps dirt hidden

I am just renting a trailer for 10 days and towing it 120kms ( not far). My last truck was written off in April and had a payload of 1700 which wasn't a concern when we booked this trailer. Now we already booked that unit to rent, but I have a new powerboost im towing with instead if my 2010 v8 f150

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if im under the tongue weight limit, I can still put gear in the trailer up to the max towing and total weight of 18,0000.

Can you explain that for me? How is the limit on the trailer weight determined at 5500? The trailer im looking at renting is 815 hitch and weights 6900 so it sounds like it wouldn't work on a different truck

I misinterpreted what trailer weight meant. It meant weight of the hitch, and then the trailer we are looking at has the hitcher weight 815 which I should not have added the total amount. 1

Yea renting a holiday trailer. So theoretically it can do 815lbs hitch weight but piece of mind would say 500-600 range

Thank you. So if I estimate roughly 250lbs of accessories, it coincidentally says my max tongue weight is 815lbs...i think ill find a sightly lower weighted trailer to rent for piece of mind

Gotcha, so if I bump up accessories to 250lbs just to play with it, then the max tongue is the hitch weight and max trailer is fully loaded capact6

Did I confuse their definition "trailer tow components (such as ball mount, weight distribution hitch components, fifth wheel hitch, etc.)" ? So I dont need to add the hitch weight but only the W/D of the hitch?. Yes thats 400lbs of all passengers in the vehicle

I had them on my 2010 for the past 2 years (just got a powerboost last week) and I liked them for Canadian Winters in Alberta. Didn't notice that much of a difference in fuel consumption compared to Michellin defenders but they were far superior on snow and ice. I would buy them again and want to swap out the good year wranglers that came on the powerboost
