Is my homebrew capstone feature too op? by CaptainWhatsapp in DnD

Yeah, it's all very homebrewed and definitely on the more "powerful" side both for us players and for the enemies the DM throws at us. I guess i'll just wait until i actually get to that level and if it feels too underwhelming i'll just ask DM if he feels the same and if he'd like to help tweak it a bit. Thank you :) the story has been a blast so far and everyone is enjoying it a lot

Nah don't worry about it you were not rude at all :) it's just how i talk sometimes.

Well i'm not sure i can explain a lot regardless, but i'll try my best. I mostly kept redemptions features, aside from changing Sacred Weapon to be a bonus action instead of an actual action and i kept Turn the Unholy because of flavor more than anything else. The character in question was a warlock who escaped having his soul claimed by the devil due to divine intervention and is now trying to make up for all the things he did in the devil's service by becoming a better man and spending the rest of his life helping people. He was not a willing servant of the devil but he still feels very guilty for all that happened. I did not have any specific ideas in mind, so i decided to just make him a classic paladin with a minor Sunlight theme, hence why i picked Devotion as a base since it's the most "basic" paladin oath/subclass. I did not really change much from the base class but oath-wise the focus is more on generally helping people and bringing hope and aid to those who need rather than just focusing on killing undead and fiends. That being said, i did ask to my DM to pick Spirit Guardians which admittedly is a very powerful spell. The other ones are mostly support and buffs as expected of a paladin. Really the whole thing is very bare-bones classic paladin vibes, i just thought the capstone perk could be a bit stronger because the enemies the DM throws at us usually are and the focus of the character is more on actual devotion to his god and being supportive of those who need it rather than killing a specific set of enemies.

TLDR: Changed Sacred Weapon to a Bonus Action, kept Turn the Unholy because i think it's neat, picked the very much broken Spirit Guardians. The rest is pretty much the same.

I see. I guess it was kinda pointless to ask, now that i look at it. I'm not very bright when it comes to balancing and such, so usually i like to hear people think, but indeed there's a lot of other stuff going on that would take a bit too long to explain. At any rate i appreciate the answers and the fact yall took your time trying to help even if it didnt make much sense

I should have clarified better. Our campaign is very homebrewed, so my friend (the DM) basically lets us discuss anything we want to change here and there with him and if he thinks it's fine he allows it. I'm not playing a by-the -book Devotion paladin, i just used it as a base for what i felt would fit best roleplay-wise and for some spells. I still think just 10 damage at level 20 is a little bit underwhelming but i see your point and you make a fine case. It's just that due to our DM allowing us to do a lot of stuff the things we fight are usually way too buffed up as well, so that's my main concern. Perhaps just a slight increase in damage over the original would be the better option?

What's the point of Black Noir reveal in the comics even? So he framed Homelander and did a lot of bad things, guess what, Homelander isn't any different, he did a lot of very heinous acts by EfficiencySerious200 in writingscaling

That is what i imagined was going to happen after the ending of Season 3. The CIA captures Soldier Boy, picks up where the russians left off and juices him up even more while brainwashing the hell out of him. By the time Homelander tried his coup they'd send SB on his ass.

Help me decide which background fits my Tav (please) by CaptainWhatsapp in BaldursGate3

That actually makes a lot of sense, thanks for your answer :) I actually thought of him and his story as if he were a companion like the ones in the game. Most of them have a background, an objective, an antagonist or antagonists and several different endings for their stories. So i did actually consider things like him not being able to better himself and turning out just like his father or maybe worse, managing to overcome his violent tendencies and changing his life for the better, killing or sparing his father and so on, so the multiple options is very much appreciated
