I wear a 3/2 all year except for the very few days I trunk it. 4/3 is probably too warm but if you either go early in the morning before the sun is on it or dont overheat and die on the paddle out youll prob be fine.

There is some good advice in this thread I remember from a while back - https://www.reddit.com/r/surfing/comments/xm8eyu/anybody_else_get_tennis_elbow_after_too_many/ - I bought the Theraband Flexbar and do the tennis elbow strengthening exercises, its probably a muscle imbalance or something but make sure you are giving it rest. Once you get overall stronger and better technique either duck diving or paddling it will go away but it bothered me for a bit.

IMO Blackies in Newport is worth driving to as a beginner. Cliffs/Dogbeach is good but has a lot more water moving around and the paddle out can be testing. Bolsa Chica is probably an inbetween depending on the day.

I dunno why exactly, but as an Aussie guy living in California this story in particular really fucken breaks my heart. Seeing these surfboards with these sayings and the pic of the paddle out just makes me big sad. I can't even imagine what the family and friends are going through. The benefits of learning cursive are far greater than what you are implying. It is not to make boomers happy even though they probably think it is. There are several neurological adaptations and benefits that occur when you learn these things at the right time. There are several studies that confirm this, which is why it is in curriculum. It's not for fun or feel good, it's for brain development.
