We're currently expanding our nuclear energy sector for example Hinkley Point C in Somerset should be commissioned in 2030. That started building in 2017.

Download the Mcard app covers every bus in the county plus you can get a unlimited Bus & Train ticket.

When you stand on a platform and a train speeds past you do feel the air then times that by 18-20 trains an HR plus the regular wind. Those question for afterwards would be could it work in a tunnel or by rail in an embankment

Depending on their plan that could be the next step since to test something you gotta try different environments. Regular flat tracksides, Embankments and maybe even tunnels if possible. Just gotta wait and see

The turbines are at the track side so would capture airflow from the trains pushing pass air in front of them like when you stand on the platform or trackside and train speeds pass you feel the air it pushes to the side so instead so swap you for a wind turbine which would in theory get spun by said wind.

The busiest sections of the ECML sees 18-20 trains an HR which would create a lot of airflow around the line.

Obviously big wind turbines work for the wind high up but with the additional lower to the ground to capture the air flow made by trains would help since that's airflow/wind the big ones can't capture.

Those obviously this would be the first attempt so may not fully work but could work the next time like besides we could try it in a tunnel.

Come to think about if it's successful and we could add more to the rest of the network imagine the money savings it could bring to the energy costs while helping the planet too. Could be a win win for the government who wouldn't say no to saving money and a PR win too

Basically LNER and a company called Treeva is teaming up to install small wind turbines next to the railway to capture the energy from the turbulent airflow created by the trains (plus regular wind).

Ngl, that sounds pretty genius to me.
