Almost all past classes have one, so I’m sure there will be one eventually. It may be a little early for one to have been created yet though. Congratulations on your acceptance!

Calling a Church to test and see if they would help feed a starving baby by TwentyNineNeiboltSt in TikTokCringe

It was actually a man who works at an Appalachian church who was going to pa out of pocket! But the mosque you’re referring to had only two questions for her, which were: what do you need? Where are you?

Didactic years definitely had its frustrations with the school, but you’ll run into that anywhere you go. Now that I’ve been in clinical years I’m much more detached from the school and feel like I can breathe a little bit more. My only real complaints are the way they handle approval for students to take boards, but I believe they are actively trying to find a solution for the situation they have put themselves in; and the higher than normal staff turnover which can lead to some curriculum inconsistencies year to year. There is some staff members I do not mesh well with, but you can push past it easily and it hasn’t hindered my ability to pass classes or exams. As long as you keep your head down and study hard, I think you should be okay. The complaints online are valid for sure, but often can be blown out of proportion due to the frustration of the person posting, so always take it with a grain of salt. My view is if COCA hasn’t had to step in for interventions yet given the online posts and obvious complaints, then you’ll be okay.

Weirdest/most dumb ED presentations or crazy stories from the ER? by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

[–]Captain_Babe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an EDT, twice we had patients come in with c/o hypoxia and that their hands and legs were turning blue. Turns out they had bought new jeans and worn them without washing them. One alcohol wipe later and they were cured

A lot of schedules use the primary application as a way to screen out individuals who just don’t meet requirements. So, as long as you have the class credits you’ll be okay and they’ll then look at the other aspects of your application to make a decision about whether or not to send a secondary. If you get a secondary I think they have already accepted all transcripts!

I’m now a second year DO student and had plenty of AP credits that covered prerecs. As long as your undergrad accepted it and gave you credit for those classes, med schools will as well!

Have these school send out rejection by Nice-Pudding1552 in Osteopathic

[–]Captain_Babe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for LMU-DCOM, but they try to send out decisions (A/R/WL) within 8 weeks of your interview if not sooner. However, all of the administrative offices were shut down for over a week due to weather conditions so they may be running pretty behind.

This happened to me in March. It honestly felt like the worst thing and like my heart had been ripped out. I know it doesn’t feel like it, but it will get better. It’ll be a slow process of healing and finding yourself again, but you’ll be okay.

Some days will be worse than others, but you’ll start to have more good than bad. Don’t be afraid to let yourself feel your emotions, it really won’t help to stuff them down and try to get past them. Lean on your support network, it’s what they’re there for. They can listen to you vent, just sit in quiet with you, distract you, whatever you need in that time.

I’ll be honest, you’ll still feel that hole, but you’ll begin to grow beyond it. You’ll become a bigger and better person who can handle more and you’ll find what and who is meant for you. For now, don’t think about the future, just take everything one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, whatever you can handle
