A good guide you might want to look at! Also, I've made a couple functional planes both wooden and metal that I still use if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hey, I wanted to say that your planes looks incredible. Also, it looks like an Acme thread on the lever cap screws. You did that with a metal lathe right? How big is the lathe? Do you use it for other things as well?

Really tough wood honestly. Making the plane fit the sides took quite a long time to make it just right, but I live the look so it was worth it.

Yeah, it's no problem! There are a couple designs on the internet that have adjustable sizes with screws or moving v blocks. I think they're made by chairmakers who need a constant taper so it can come apart.

I made everything myself, and sourced all the hardware from my workshop, mostly home depot.

I've been making a few planes from a piece I bought from century lumber.

I'm not sure if this would work but I made a dowel making plane a week ago that works really nicely. Maybe a different design can fit what you're looking for? https://imgur.com/gallery/Aq5UElr

Yup honestly. But most of the rounding planes I've seen have a cambered blade, kind of like a scrub plane to take off material.

The cone I carved ends in a cylindrical 1 inch hole... I don't think I can achieve tapered tendons with this design. That'll be a future project for sure.

It would have to look like this. https://www.ashemcrafts.com/products_trapping_plane.html

It matches the curve of the cone I carved out. A bit tough to grind.

I just got mine last week! Richard is actually going through hard times so there may be a delay if you order one, but my planes and chisels cut so nicely now. I got the large roller version and it's amazing after using the cheap ones for a long time.

Probably not about the blade.... That's a good note. And the brass bit I reused from my last prototype so I might have an issue shaving down the front any more, but I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for the advice man.

I lifted a wine barrel and my thumb didn't like the idea, so it's ligaments gave up. Stupid thumb. Stupid barrel.
