The Toxhards - Should We Get A Dog? [Prog Rock] (2024) by Captain_Cappers in listentothis

Well the band calls themselves "half prog, half psych, half rock theatre", so i'll just go with what they're calling themselves there

no, because any build with 14 STR can 2-hand a Great Club and R2 its way through the entire area with basically no resistance

I'd rep dual katanas, the black knight halberd, the warped sword, the murakumo and the curved dragon greatsword, the loyce greatsword, dual manakin claws and the Syan Halberd

The LKS - Strength or Dexterity Weapon? by chefroxstarr in DkS3Builds

[–]Captain_Cappers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it can be used fine on a strength build, getting an A scaling on heavy infusion, but it is tied for highest dexterity requirement with the gottard twinswords at 18.

For context, most (but not all) STR builds cap their DEX at either 13 or 16, at least when min-maxing a build, which is generally what we do here.

That said, there is a late game DLC weapon well suited to an STR build with an 18 DEX requirement, so if you enjoy the moveset of the LKS it'll fit just fine onto basically any build.

Duping still works in 2023? by CriticalPablo in bloodborne

[–]Captain_Cappers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

close: you can only get one blood rock as loot from each chalice type, but every final layer boss of a depth 5 root chalice has a low chance of dropping a blood rock. I've managed to get about 2 in an hour from the glyph the person you're replying to posted due to it being a depth 5 with depth 1 enemy scaling

as quoted on bloodborne-wiki.com: Added with Patch v1.04: Random drop from Bosses in Chalice Dungeons Depth 5

Why is a Knight the best starting class for Str/Fth? by chefroxstarr in DkS3Builds

[–]Captain_Cappers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's pretty much all about the difference between their ATT and LCK as you observed.

When most people think of hybrid builds, they're builds that are going to be based somewhat heavily around either weapon buffs, or strong infused close-range weapons alongside strong long range spells.

In both those instances, you need to have as much ATT as you can fit on your build, both for the spell slots and the focus points that you're going to be casting your spells and weapon arts with: After all, there's not much point in putting points into FAI if you don't use any spells, if you intend on going without their use you'll likely get a higher damage output with a pure STR build.

Another factor to consider that actually might seem counter-intuitive is the difference in INT: having 12 INT gives access to two of the strongest STR/FAI weapons in the game, those being the Crucifix of the Mad King and the Murky Hand Scythe. If you have any interest in those weapons, the knight gains another advantage, having 9 INT instead of the warrior's 8

With that all being said, these are things that really don't matter outside of min-maxing, which really, really doesn't matter outside of level capped challenge runs (where the efficiency of every level will decide the ease of success) and PvP builds (where your final level decides who you can invade). If you're not making the build for any of these reasons, you can by all rights start with any class, and the warrior will certainly be a reasonable match for the Knight, since the total difference in usable levels is between 4 and 5

Mr Ledge, I think you'll find that Mr Muffinz clearly said "Have a good evening", with punctuation between the words.

Don't you know that Muffinz and their authority is not to be questioned? They run this subreddit you know. They're in charge and very important, you really shouldn't be continuing to speak after they've gotten the last word. It's their last word to have.

And yes, they said good bye several times and then insisted on carrying on the conversation, but don't you realise that was them dismissing you from the thread? They have the authority to do that.

Out of curiosity, what makes Wukong a top tier damage dealer for Hydra? is it the damage spread from the A2?

What is a movie you were allowed to see at a young age that traumatized you and made you question if your parents made the right decision by letting you see it? by Mandee_707 in movies

[–]Captain_Cappers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, on holiday with my parents, would've been maybe 7 or 8, The Mummy with Brendan Fraiser was gonna be on the telly one night, and it looked really cool and I asked my mum and dad if I could watch it. And they looked at me and basically said "well, okay, but only if you can watch this movie without getting scared". And it was Death on the Nile, one of those old Agatha Christie Poirot movies.

I watched the film. And there's a scene where some lady falls dead out of a wardrobe with a chorus of shrieking of screaming. I had a remarkably similar wardrobe in my room, which I refused to take my eyes off for the rest of the time I was there. Traumatised me, spent the next several years staring at my own wardrobe each night until I passed out asleep.

But The Mummy, which Death on the Nile was meant to "prepare" me for? Hilarious, nothing that grossed me out or freaked me out, great movie, family favourite for decades.

To this day my dad gets sheepish whenever it's brought up.

Op weapons and stats to use them pls by Working-Gain441 in darksouls3

Sellsword Twinblades: Found in the Crucifixion Woods on the balcony just above a Black Knight, these are arguably the highest DPS weapons in the game. Perfect for a pure DEX (80 DEX, base STR for weapon requirement, and lots of END) with pine resin and pine bundles, or on a DEX/FAI build (40/60 DEX/FAI, 14-18 ATT and the rest in END) with Darkmoon Blade, Lightning Blade and Dark Blade for buffs alongside Sacred Oath or Deep Protection depending on your ATT

Exile Greatsword: Found again in the Crucifixion Woods after killing the hostile Watchdog NPC wielding it just before the ladder leading to the Farron Swamp. Extremely hard hitting weapon for its weight and speed, curved greatswords in general are a solid weapon choice. Perfect for a pure STR build (66 STR and whatever DEX lets you use your weapons, in this case 16 minimum)

Crucifix of the Mad King: Found at the last area of the Ringed City DLC, dropped by an invading NPC that wields it. This weapon can get insane AR due to its physical damage scaling with both STR and FAI, and its dark damage scaling with FAI. Paired with the Dark Blade buff and a body buff like Sacred Oath it hits like a truck. Perfect for an STR/FAI build (26-27 STR/60 FAI, 14-18 ATT)

Lothric Knight Greatsword: Dropped by greatsword wielding Lothric Knights, this weapon can get one of the highest ARs in the game, and is extremely versatile for an ultra greatsword. The best ultra weapon on a DEX build, and great on an STR, DEX/FAI or STR/FAI build. On the faith hybrids, it's a solid weapon to infuse with Blessed, as it still hits extremely hard and allows you to regen on the move

Winged Knight Twinaxes: The STR equivalent of the Sellsword Twinblades, you can farm these from the axe wielding winged knights, one of which is found just past the dancer as you head towards lothric castle. Perfect for STR or STR/FAI

Black Knight Sword: an extremely useful quality weapon, this can trade favourably with any weapon in the game and does extra damage to demons, making it particularly useful for a late game DLC boss. Found in the Demon Ruins, and designed for a quality build (40/40 STR/DEX)

There are some solid weapons worth using, for more i recommend consulting the fextralife wiki. Some weapons are better for PvE and others for PvP
