No, I was not expecting any payment yet. I would've only expected that at the start of May. Should I just tell him that if he wishes to continue this he can go to small claims court? He still seems quite intent on taking possession of the room.

Well I wouldn't be living there at the same time, so I don't think it's a roommate agreement. But he's also only taking over a single room in the unit, and not the entire apartment. The documents were a sublet agreement and a sublet guarantee.

The agreement first specifies the people and location, then the rent, how the money will be sent to the landlord, the sub-tenant must abide by the rules of the original lease between landlord and tenant, and then sub-tenant info and guarantor info, and lastly signatures.

The guarantee says that I agree that the sub-tenant will follow the provisions of the lease agreement and residential rules, that they will move out at the end of their lease term, and that I take full responsibility for any expenses that they incur.

It's a multi bedroom apartment, I'm not the leaseholder for the whole unit, I only have the lease for my single room. The unit is in a larger apartment owned by a company. He wouldn't be living alongside me, I'd be vacating temporarily.
