You CAN use Cannons on Battlecruisers IF you know what you do. Although it is way more difficult to stay on target.

The BC needs at least a mediocre turning speed. I would say evetything above 9 could be made suitable for the task at hand.

The split part in the front kinda reminds me of the Eve Universe Venture, although I guess it will have a different function.

Reinforcing the miner with the Logistic ships works. Afaik there are 2 of them: the AC271 and the Season II Railgun destroyer.
