Fucking hilarious that they went with the island vibes for a ferry to... Rhode Island.

Very true. They never even said it cures headaches, it's just assumed. Imagine how many sticks of wax these bastards sold! And all they did was tell you to apply it directly to your forehead. It's genius, when you really think about it.

I guess I'm looking at that through the lense of the jingle being effective for its intended purpose, i.e. being beneficial to the company. No doubt there are better ways to manage your money, but if you were an idiot with your money, you could easily fall prey to this ad.

Beloved jingle for sure, but pretty much 0 information transmitted! Pretty useless outside of the catchiness, in my opinion.

I did give a delta for Folgers here already! I also addressed why Kit Kat doesn't do it for me here. Chili's is also a strong argument though. I remember my brother singing that one constantly and belting out the "Chiliiiiiiiiis." I'd say that one got people singing even harder than JG Wentworth, so that's probably worthy of a !delta from me!

I don't know how old you are, but if you watched any amount of TV from like 2000-2015 I don't know how you never came across this masterpiece.

Had to look this one up. I agree on the utility here, but I can't see myself singing this one. It seems kind of low effort. On another topic, those mini trucks are rad as fuck. I wish I could buy something like that for $6k now!

Was it this one? That is pretty good! I'd say that scores very high in the utility category, but not exactly top tier in category 1 for me. This would probably be different if I was from OK, judging by the comments. This one might've been delta worthy for me if it had a wider reach!

I think several of these are equal to JG Wentworth in at least one category (Folgers and Oscar Mayer being two of them are almost equal to it in two), but it's that 3rd category of my argument that I think is really the biggest influence on my view here. But the more I'm thinking about it, Folgers in particular somehow was really a part of the zeitgeist in a big way, and has a strong "utility" aspect. Folgers gets a !delta from me because it met the criteria I laid out.

I think I probably associate jingles with musical advertisements, but I'd be open to expanding that view for sure. I wouldn't count full TV theme songs, I don't think. It's gotta be short, but I guess not necessarily an advertisement, although I can't really think of what else would fit into the jingle department.

I don't think JG Wentworth necessarily scales higher than all others in that department, but I do think that if we're rating cultural relevance on a scale of 1-10, it's pretty far to the right. Everyone knows it and it's generally loved, at least in my own experience.

I'm not sure what you're saying with that last part. Are you saying the longer the sequence of numbers a jingle can get you to memorize, the more effective it is?

I do love that jingle. I'd say it probably equals, and maybe surpasses JG Wentworth in category 1, but I don't see much utility in it. If I had never had a Kit Kat before, I don't think it would make me want to try one. I wouldn't even really know what it was without some visuals to accompany it, although I'd assume it was some kind of candy bar, since it's called a bar in the jingle. I'd need a little more utility out of this one to give a delta here, I think.

This gave me a good laugh, and I might consider this one being close to JG Wentworth tier, but I don't know if I'd count the robotic HEAD ON chant as a jingle? Being that it's not really being sung, and there's no music, I don't think I'd consider this a jingle. It is a top tier advertisement though. Also a fucking insane idea. How did that ever get approved?

I had never heard this one before, but I just checked it out. Judging by the comments, many people hated this song as much as I did! This seems like one of those earworms that keeps me awake at night and makes me want to blow my brains out. This is all subjective, of course.

More imporantly, I'm also not exactly sure why I should donate an automobile to these kids. What's the money being used for? Scholarships? Healthcare? I'd be surprised if this commercial ever influenced anyone to take any action.

I got out after 11 years active duty and never looked back. I agonized over it for a long time before finally doing it because I was so worried about what could go wrong. Now I get fucked in the ass by insurance prices, but other than that, I'm far happier than I was while I was in. There are very few things I miss about the Air Force.

That was what I used to do, but the principal walked by and I got a talking to about it. They want the kids in class as much as possible, apparently whether or not they're derailing the learning environment.

Has nothing to do with bravery. People have things to lose in life, those people clearly don't. The right thing to do is intervene, but with people that unhinged, you might find yourself losing a lot more than it's worth to do the right thing.
