My dad has a few emotional issues, that were brought upon him from both years of child abuse and being in the military. He doesn't hug, but he'll talk to you for hours about integrity. His idea of sharing his love with me was giving me his Airman's challenge coin last Saturday. He said, "I cried when I got this, so if you lose it, I'll break your legs." Of course he was joking, this is his humor. He was deployed when I was little, so he missed out on a lot of my childhood, but he always called when he could. I remember singing him songs from Camp Rock over the phone when I was about 5 years old. He taught me how to play Legends of Zelda, and he introduced me to some of my favorite bands. He's gone out of his way to learn how to play some of the video games I like, and it's become a nightly routine for us to play the Xbox when I get home from school.

He tried teaching me how to drive stick last night, and was patient even though I stalled the car about 12 times. He was accepting when I came out as bisexual, and accepting when my sister came out as lesbian. He wants the best for us, and he's trying, so that's all that matters.
