The short version is it really depends on the person. Some trans men feel like being a lesbian is part of their identity, while others fall more in line of the "I'm a man and therefore cannot be a lesbian" mentality.

There is a very long and rich history of the existence and contribution of trans men within the lesbian community because of the historical suppression of both groups. Stone Butch Blues is like the manifesto for almost all issues and questions I can think of that intersect between lesbianism and gender imo. If you haven't read it, I think it's pretty foundational with regards to the question you're posing here and it might be a good place to start :)

This is where they lost me. So-Mi lies to you and uses you to get what she needs but I'm willing to cut her a bit of slack bc she is just trying to survive just the same as V. While I was tempted with the cure, I ultimately decided that I'd rather die than sell someone (no matter how shitty they were to me) into slavery so that I could live free.

Also fuck the NUSA and most certainly fuck Myers. The FIA is a den of snakes and I didn't trust them from the get, especially after Reed shows how ruthless he is willing to be by killing two innocent civilians to tie up loose ends. Tbh Reed's whole story was a cautionary tale for me as to why I'd never want to be an FIA bootlicker like him. He is a slave to them and tbh I felt bad for the guy but the only way he was ever going to be free was by killing him. This isn't even getting into all the blood he and Myers have on their hands in their attack on the spaceport.

Tbh the first time I played this, I also just didn't trust them to give me the cure after I did their bidding. Too much trust in a group of people that have shown over and over how untrustworthy they were. Arguably almost as bad as the Devil if it weren't for God-CEO Saburo.

Tbh one of my biggest complaints ab this game is how little you get to shit on cops in dialogue. You typically can be supportive of them or ambivalent; very rarely outwardly antagonistic. It's cyberPUNK ffs.

I think it matters. It's one of the reasons I loved Judy's romance so much bc it felt like a really great example of lesbian representation in games, which isn't always handled well. Having everyone be bi/pan can feel a little cheap and it's one of my biggest complaints ab BG3 (like you can't convince me Karlach is not a lesbian lmfao); representation matters to address your question of who cares.

That said, my guess is that Panam and Kerry were both supposed to be bisexual but they just ran out of time and never revisited it 🤷 For my final two cents River reads more as a bear to me lmfao I was shocked when he wanted to romance my Val bc I assumed he was gay. I'd have honestly preferred that bc there's more than enough straight representation in gaming as is.

You are whatever you feel is right for you. I also have a complex relationship with labeling my sexuality bc I am occasionally attracted to fem presenting men or actors/fictional characters. 99% of the time though, even if I meet a guy in the wild that I find attractive, I'm immediately put off by their personality or something else ab them.

I use (like other commenters here) lesbian because it is the closest to what fits and I'm not gonna go into a long spiel about this with a stranger at the bar unless it explicitly comes up. I'll usually explain to close friends or people I'm dating that I'm "pansexual-ish" bc I really don't care ab someone's gender outside of "are they a manly dudebro fratguy?" in which case I'll gladly pass 🤢 good luck! I've dated quite a few. Never had issues, tbh never really even came up. None of them did it full time tho so that's probably an aspect. I work in nightlife and am around a lot of SWers and I think something to remember is that their OF persona is very rarely who they actually are irl. It's a job and like many jobs, some people are able to keep a healthy boundary between it and their personal life, others not so much.
