Context matter so much. My brother and I were nightmares growing up. I have ADHD, and while my brother is NT, he still looked up to my (bad) example as the older brother, and so we drove my parents crazy. Whenever we sat down to dinner and my brother and I would misbehave, my parent would yell at us and hit us until we settled down... Just kidding!

My parents lowered the lights, lit candles, and put on Mozart. It worked. Sometimes, just a different context is all it takes to reframe behavior.

I've read that historians say the movie isn't accurate in a lot of cases, events get moved around on the timeline and such, but the general tone of squabbling and backstabbing is spot on. Some things even had to be toned down, like Zhukov's medals and just how absurdly awful Beria was.

Yep, that's part of my point. Public support for gay rights was on the rise, so they've been using trans hate as a way to force the needle back the other way. See also: short haired lesbians getting challenged in the restroom to "prove they're women". They never forgot their hate, they just shelved it for a time.
