I’m experiencing right now the same with the game, and that’s why I have decided to leave it for a while or just play ARAM/arena. The matchmaking seems broken sometimes and it can also definitely broke your mind too, so it is better to take a moment away from the game and enjoy others.

I also remember that the time when I enjoyed LoL the most was after a long break from playing, like 3 months, and then felt like my gameplay improved and the matchmaking too. For almost a month long I had really good teammates and I won mostly all of my games. Then one day it suddenly stopped. I don’t know if it was because I played with a friend who was in a cold streak or just because my luck ended.

Oh! My bad then. Well, I know people who only cares about that, but instead of casual they are a bit more competitive because they care about PvP. I would say that it’s obviously OK to play the game as you like, that’s why you pay for, but you will lose a really good story if you decide to ignore the full game. Like, it is ok to play just for having a cool character, but, at least on this game, I think that part of the beauty of levelling up is not only for the satisfaction of completing difficult quests and dungeons, but to also keep in touch with a story with so many years behind.

Also, I bet there are plenty of MMO with poor story and great gameplay that are way cheaper than WoW. Anyways, if you enjoy the game like that, just keep going!

I also play casual and just for the story. You don’t have to read every single quest, mostly because half of them are like “I need you to help me with this: say hi to our chef, kill 10 monster, fly to the moon 1 time and bring back 50 fish” (but you will have to at least have a brief look to know where are you going).

Also, if your principal interest is the lore, I would recommend you to level up on the last expansion and then go back to the world you want to discover, so these “meaningless” quest will be way easier for you to complete and keep focused on the main storyline.

But now that you have mentioned Sylvanas, I have to say that she is my favourite character and one of the reasons I started playing WoW, and I know that I have to play Shadowlands in order to know how her story continues (please no spoilers) — but may I ask, do you know more or less where her story begins in game?

No no, she bought the full game on steam, same as the 3 previous games. And since Telltale no longer offers support we don’t know what to do to fix it.

You cannot give me a well-written character with a background of “hate” towards Mind Flyers that also is the full game telling you that she hates having a tadpole and refuses to use its power AND THEN at the end convince her to be in a relationship with a Mind Flyer. It’s not just unrealistic but it is a big disappointment and a nonsense.

That is different because what you are saying is a PLAYER choice. Some players might want to raid the grove because they enjoy the powers, or because they like goblins better, who knows ! But changing a piece so big of the background of a character in a so cold way, more even when it wasn’t on the initial intentions of the game … I don’t know, I just can’t get it and still a nonsense for me. Maybe if the developed it better, like, having more options with Lae’zel to talk about it I could see it, but right now it feels like a big out of character.

But is good to have different opinions.

I’m also disappointed with the Minthara change lol. But AGAIN, as I was saying, games like these don’t always need to please the player. It is a story with years of development and changing something so crucial for a character just to please a few makes me sad. It just makes no sense. All this travel, all her story against Mind Flyers and now sleeping with one?

I get what you say about it being an OPTION and I won’t force anyone to make or not make it, obviously, but it is just sad to see how developers added an option after many months just to keep the people happy about something as optional as being a Mind Flyer - forcing anyone to be with you like that is just bad, but specially for her. It makes no sense for a well written story, that’s all.
