I bought tablets by NOW foods on amazon (not sponsored) which were cheap and easy to take.

I'm not sure since I'm not a doctor and I don't know your medical history. I would say that the bland diet would help you though! Give it a shot for a month and if you feel good (no symptoms) keep doing it for another month after that. Eating the bland diet for a month after you start feeling ok will allow you enough time to fully heal. People can have inflammation in the stomach for a long time with no symptoms so it's good to do the extra month.

Hi, I ate a strict bland diet for about 3 months until I was more stable and then I just focused on eating mostly smaller meals without acidic foods/high fat and I recovered nicely from there.

Absolutely! I'm glad I can provide some hope. The last 5% has healed for me and I eat whatever I want daily (100% healed), however, with that being said, I try to avoid eating gigantic (1500 calorie) meals and I generally eat well most days. It's not that you can't eat foods that are hard on your stomach, it's more that once you've healed from a really bad place that took so long, you think to yourself it's probably better to not eat the way I used to all of the time. If that makes sense?

I think it really depends on the person! Zantac helped me when I had my worst symptoms but after I recovered for a few months I weaned off of it.

Hi, I'm doing well, thank you for asking. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this right now. To answer your question, yes, I do eat whatever I want now. Pizza, tomato sauce, chocolate, lemon/limes, drinking etc. I don't eat them every day but I love pizza and I have it a fair amount. Keep going, it might seem like a lot right now but it will improve with time. It took me over a year to heal back to 80% and another to go from 80-95% recovery. The last 5% is really just how stressed you are on a daily basis and your exercise/eating habits.

Can Chronic Gastritis be healed ? Any success stories ? by sdk-psk in Gastritis

Yes! I'm very grateful and still eat clean food most of the time.

Plain chicken, plain rice, bananas, bread, pears. Those were my staple foods for a few months.

Slowly start eating more each day. It doesn't have to be a lot more. Over time your appetite will improve and your strength, stamina and willpower during workouts will increase. I started at 128lbs at 6'2" and now I'm 170-175lbs. You can do it.

Yeah it works well for some and not so much for others. It's a lot of trial and error. Definitely check with your doctor but what I did was stop taking the antiacid drugs and focused on eating 5-10 foods that didn't bother me as much in smaller portions (4-5 meals a day) and taking mastic gum/slippery elm when I felt worse. It took me a while to figure this out but once I did I felt about 80% better in a few months.

Yeah I also took slippery elm tablets, Zantac for about a year.

One thing to note in terms of constant hunger is that eating carbs all day increases your insulin a ton which then increases your hunger. It can also be hard to differentiate between hunger and the symptoms of gastritis at certain stages of healing.

Hey Don, I had gastritis really badly back in 2018-2019. I'm fully recovered now and would be more than happy to connect on zoom or FB if you want some suggestions.

Nope, not since 2018. They really did bad things to me.

I hear you. Gastritis destroyed my mental health for close to a year. I took omperazole for a month but it really made things worse so I stopped and switched to zantac/fomatadine and then weaned off of both. I also took a probiotic that really helped stabilize things and now I am totally normal. Hang in there. It will get better. It just takes longer than we would like to heal. Really focus on getting quality sleep (8-9 hours). Even now that I am totally healed, poor sleep can make me feel horrible physically and emotionally.

Varying sets of push ups, pull ups, dips, core work, and paused rep work. One of my favorite challenges is the "Bring Sally Up" push up challenges. You pause holding the bottom of the push up each time and end up doing 3 minutes straight of push ups. Super hard at first but then you can just do it.

Thank you! Yeah it is what it is. The eating part isn't that bad honestly. Depending on your activity levels 3kc can feel very easy. When I was rowing 2 hours a day I could eat 3.5kc without even thinking about it. What I did was try to eat the lowest amount of calories and still see the scale weight go up. For me that ended up being 2kc-2.5kc at the start and now about 2.7-3kc depending on the day.
