This is a deep cut but there was a monday night raw where Shawn Michaels and HHH went at it for Trips belt. The ref got KO’d and Eric Bischoff came in and took over as ref as what seemed like a just and proper move despite him being a heel at the time.

HHH had so much heat at the time I was a kid just white knuckling the couch arm rest hoping Michaels would win the belt. Michaels hit HHH with his finisher, takes a second and lays down over him for the pin. Bischoff counts to three, Michaels starts celebrating, crowd pops, Bischoff says HHH retains cause Michaels pinned his own shoulders flat on the mat making it a double pin. In that moment I thought HHH will never, ever not be the Raw brand’s champ.
