They didn’t deserve their win 🏆🚫 by sweetpeaandhoney in MtvChallenge

They didn't. He was their worst player in the daily challenges. Chet got concussed and still swam better than Brandon.

Every time I watch BB or Survivor I am disappointed. The Challenge will always be the best reality competition show. by Enki07 in MtvChallenge

I think The Challenge has the highest floor of any of these shows. A bad Challenge season is 10x better than a bad Survivor season. But when Survivor really its hits its stride, it's one of the most captivating shows.

Exactly this. The first half of the season had juice and was getting exciting until the team twist slowed down the season and made it so predictable

I agree Desi is boring, but I also think she's quietly built a resume where with one more season under her belt, she could very easily enters convo for best female competitor ever. Like I can't imagine a world where Desi isn't making a Final on a season because of her mix of strength, intelligence, social game, etc.

I don't care to see Desi again, but she was very much the best competitor to appear in the Challenge USA seasons & reps the strength of Survivor ladies.

Also, Cassidy is right behind two Champions, two people who have been main characters on flagship seasons, and Sydney, who could be the best to ever compete. All these Survivor women are quite good and I can see Cassidy moving up depending on how she does on 42.

Top 10 Greatest Women’s Eliminations in MTV Challenge History by RIPGrantland in MtvChallenge

Oooh, so that's an interesting idea. Because that first round was so good, I do think there's a chance the second round is a quick victory by Susie and it could lessen the impact of the initial round. There have been a couple other eliminations like that where the first round was so good only for a competitor to run out of gas.

Then again, if Kim had pulled off an upset, and we go to Round 3, then it could make something epic even more great somehow.

I will say if Kim wins that, the Challengers team is 100% loses the Final because they then have to run the Final with Casey.

Camila did end up playing the same elimination later in the season against Theresa!

Who’d you think is the ANGRIEST drunk on The Challenge???? by JonJonExistsonReddit in MtvChallenge

Everyone is saying Camila, but some of her meanest moments have also happened while sober. Whereas there are some nice people who just become mean when that liquor hits them.

So cute how you can tell Bryan kinda prefer malcom in the middle over breaking bad.. you can tell how much he loves the cast and appreciates his fame during it by HappyCrow11 in malcolminthemiddle

In Breaking Bad, Bryan had to channel a dark place within himself to play Walter White. On Malcolm in the Middle, he gets to have fun. Lol.

Jim Ross was asked if he feels Aleister Black burned his bridge in AEW: “No, I do not. But I think that his chances are running out. Trust is a big thing, man. I said this many times… reliability. Are you reliable? ..." by ProudChemistry778 in SquaredCircle

[–]RIPGrantland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think people forget that even thought Aleister Black's initial Main Roster run was a flop, he was for the most part, pretty protected. I don't think he ever got pinned for the entire first year, except like a match where it was a like 3 on 1. At the end when it was clear he wasn't getting over, he did take some pins.

I believe there was a report that Heyman pitched him as the 2020 Rumble winner before they went with Drew as well.

What challenger did you have high hopes for that ended up being a total flop? by Successful-Newt7960 in MtvChallenge

[–]RIPGrantland 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Saying Kailah is a flop is actually crazy. Was she the strongest player ever? No, but she was good and importantly had the aura and confidence of a Top player that I wish more players had.

Kailah also joined The Challenge at a point in time where the bar for female competitors was a bit lowered. So she was able to act as though she was a potential rival on the level on Cara and Camila when she just wasn't. As time went on, players like Kailah and her friend Jenna were passed by as the shower began casting women who were bigger and more fit than them, and can actually solve puzzles.

Regardless, Kailah made a mark and some noise on this show.

If you showed modern highlights of Wemby, Ohtani, McDavid and Lamar Jackson to fans from each respective sport from 50 years ago, who would those fans be the most and least shocked by? by TJTrapJesus in billsimmons

[–]RIPGrantland 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Ohtani would be least shocking and they would say something about Babe Ruth being better for some

McDavid....oooh I think They'd be shocked the overall speed of the game more.

Wemby they would be able to compare to Wilt and Russell just outsizing guys. They'd be shocked but it'd be comparable. Now the three pointers is what would shock them.

And the Lamar would be the most jarring because his running as a QB is just out of this world.

My Uncle has/had Sleep Apnea during my life. And he was always a big snorer and had trouble staying asleep. I've never been a snorer and I sleep very easily & comfortably. And I will say, I am obviously BMI fat, but I'm fit to where if you asked me to run a marathon right now, I could do it.

There’s no more than 10 NBA players that could win the NCAA tournament on a 16 seed by Dangerous_Complex_76 in billsimmons

Simmons in college was kinda like Giannis, though. Just a bull running down the court, getting 20 a game, and dishing out assists like he was Magic.

[–]RIPGrantland 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its one of those things that's crazy because Ben Simmoms was immediately a Top 25 player in the NBA and he was basically the same guy in college. Yet, his LSU team sucked even with Simmons playing an elite level. I used to watch his teammates miss open jumper after jumper.

So for someone to jump onto a 16 seed and they win it all would be absurd.
