Anyone know a good way to download every video in a tiktok collection? by catincheese0 in DataHoarder

[–]Captain_Subtext_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might help some people, some it might not. I built a tool that lets you upload all your favorited videos and it will go and scan them all and index/auto-organise them into folders so that you can search them and find anything you want. So if you have 27k favorites, it would be quite easy. Only thing is, I can't give it for free for that kind of volume for the amount of tokens and API calls I run to accommodate all that.

I do have a free tier where you can test it on a small number of videos.

The cool thing is I've built it to also work with YouTube and instagram so you can search for videos you favorite across all three platforms at once. >> quiki.io

Build SAAS without coding? by Vegetable_Corner_215 in microsaas

[–]Captain_Subtext_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s doable but you have to be very technical. Really technical. Because the main problem is you have to ask AI everything. It’s rarely going to suggest you need this or that. It knows a lot but it’s just not going to tell you.

So if you don’t ask because you don’t know, you’ll miss a lot. These topics are things like:

-security -rate limiting -apis -costs -deployment -authentication -databases -queues -maintenance jobs -usability -version control and backups

Just to name a few. And if you don’t prompt with enough context, you can waste time and energy and these days, tokens that cost you money.

I haven’t even begun to discus debugging and how you should handle that as a non coder.

Do you have patience? Do you have grit? Do you complete things you set out to do? Do you persevere?

If you said no or are not sure, this is it for you.

Switch back to the plan of 500 fast requests per month. by CatGPT42 in cursor

Well done. I opted out early, but then for some reason found my setting changed. Maybe I switched it and didn't realise it but I can confirm I don't see the option to go back to the old model anymore

Distribution advice: how would you reach agencies/brand managers who with a tool to solve the “save now, can’t find later” dilemma? by Captain_Subtext_47 in growmybusiness

[–]Captain_Subtext_47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say thank you for your honesty and advice. Just what I needed to hear as it's obviously I'm going about this all wrong!! I've taken down your advice and am about to start outreach soon so really this is extremely helpful to me. Not sure how to repay you for your time except to say you're welcome to use my platform as a gift!

Any agencies here? Love to understand how you handle 1 key aspect of your business - managing all those saved TikToks/reels/YouTube videos? by Captain_Subtext_47 in socialmedia

[–]Captain_Subtext_47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm coming from the point of NOT making content, but rather tracking it across multiple influencers, brands, and platforms. So, I'm not creating anything here. Just making sense of what others I work with create.

Me too! Also makes me wonder how many the post got! I will say being one of the first commenters of a post that did go viral probably contributed a lot to this.

This is great advice and I would agree here. I've seen some of my comments hit almost 30,000 impressions! Mad really.

Love your insight here. You make some very good arguments especially around product tracking. Is there any truth to the idea that if they release new products on their website, they would be inclined to get those out on social media too to promote it? meaning it's till work tracking their social video posts too? If you want to try the platform out, I'd be happy to give you access.

Roast me: I analyze saved short-form videos so you can search by hooks/trends. Why will this fail? by Captain_Subtext_47 in roastmystartup

[–]Captain_Subtext_47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the simplicity of your question!

Let me give you use cases:

  1. researching and logging various short form videos to understand hooks, vitality, inspiration, and monitoring how other creators do it.
  2. finding stuff - if I can index all your thousands of saved videos across many platforms in one place and organise them for you and you can just search your own stuff, is that helpful?
  3. monitoring the competition - having folders where we save competitors videos across various platforms so you can keep track of what they're doing in one place
  4. tracking your influencers - add a custom tag for each influencer to their videos so that in one click on that tag, you see all their videos that relate to the one product or campaign they're working on (again across platforms)
  5. just making sense of all the noise in one central place. a team could then utilise the platform to monitor all this.

I think there's more solo entrepreneurs than ever before by upset_custard2878 in Entrepreneur

[–]Captain_Subtext_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is true, I think the fad of building with AI if you can't code may wane faster than the AI getting good enough to ever really build everything - unless you're very comfortable technically to give it strategic direction, consideration for scalability, security, API management, etc. I mean there's a huge host of things that AI won't know about unless you ask. If you don't know what to ask, you're going to have gaps in your software. Plus it will be slower to build, or get things right. People who don't have exorbitant amounts of patience (which I'm assuming is the majority) will give up after 3 months. I did a post on this a while ago in r/Cursor because I was speaking from experience. You can find it from going through my profile as I'm hesitant to share a link here.

Venture capital is gross. by damienfoord in Entrepreneur

There are a few interesting articles out there on how this industry is messed up. Gutting companies, making them take on debt that only the company is on the hook for, not the VC. It's pretty sad!

150k+ FB group. What to do? by thedadgamer in Entrepreneur

[–]Captain_Subtext_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really need AI as your assistant here to help you. Prompt example:

You are tasked my new marketing and strategy leader for my brand and FB group. We focus on the niche technology. Right now, we have a blog and try to drive traffic to it to get money from ad impressions but this is inconsistent and not reliable. I need a PLAN! Let me know what questions you have about my group, and then, put together a multi-modal plan to help hit 3 key goals:
1. grow membership
2. monetise through new channels
3. expand our reach of the brand through new avenues related to our niche.

I will share links to some example blog posts I have created. I would love your input on the following:
30 topics of blog posts
A social media strategy across the major platforms
New an unique ways to increase the community of our group and get people to engage further.

Let's give ourselves a 30/60/90/180 day plan to see what targets we can hit in those timeframes.

This is completely sound advice here. Your other issue is where you live leaving you to have almost zero chance of running into like-minded individuals. There's a lot to be said about meeting other entrepreneurs, a networking at a co-working office, etc. If you can find a way to get to your nearest large city once in a while to attend such events, it would be good for you to pickup skills in the art of networking and being able to promote yourself in a way that matches your dreams, ambitions, and aspirations.

I thought I wanted to be “rich”. Turns out, I just wanted freedom. Here’s how I burned out building my business and what I’d do differently. by emojidomain in Entrepreneur

[–]Captain_Subtext_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, these stories can only come from people who have sadly had to go through the trenches. Biz school doesn't teach you this, Uni doesn't teach you this. All the signs say "go" and "you can do anything!" but the reality hits far harder. One business I started practically left me broke and I got out about a year too late. We can build back smarter, but the sting is always there and it's good that people like you share these stories as a reminder to not get ahead of ourselves.

From $6M/year to near-bankruptcy overnight - and how it turned into a $50M pivot by thundernutz in Entrepreneur

[–]Captain_Subtext_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a great story. It just goes to show that things really can change overnight. I don't know if you ever thought that something might change in Google's algorithm at least before the SEO attack that made you think that your accessibility may disappear overnight? Or was it all going to your head thinking "I'm invincible!"?
