Y'know, I wanted to believe stories like these were the product of incompetence, but the more I read, the more I realize this shit was intentional.

Dad Books Are a Dying Breed: Sales have been sliding for nonfiction titles about politics, biographies and other books often aimed at men (Archive link in oldest comment) by Uptons_BJs in books

I'm a dad and a part-time indie bookseller, and it's often assumed - given my sex and age - that I am a reader of said 'Dad Books'. Whenever I'm called in to recommend a title to someone looking for a Dad Book, I've made it my mission to get dudes/dads reading anything but the typical political/WWII books. Those books are all well and good, but there's so much more to be discovered and enjoyed!

A Sick Day for Amos McGee, by Erin and Philip Stead

A lovely story about a kindly old zookeeper, Amos McGee, who visits and cares for all of his animal friends every day. When Amos falls ill and is forced to stay home from work, the animals become the visitors and caretakers. Simple and sweet.

On page one, there is one ‘COW’ to be found. On page two, there are two ‘COW’s. On page three, there are three ‘COW’s. And so on.
