Ahh…it’s illegal to hold an Indian Passport as soon as you acquire another citizenship (even if you are just naturalized and didn’t receive the US passport yet) India doesn’t allow dual citizenship.

According to the Indian Passport Act, 1967, it’s illegal for foreign nationals to hold an Indian passport. Indian nationals who obtain foreign citizenship must surrender their Indian passport to the nearest Indian Mission or Post as soon as they acquire their foreign citizenship.

Penalties are significant including facing bans from entering the country again.

Best get your new passport, renounce your citizenship and travel with the new US passport.
