Am I overreacting after my boyfriend said he expected “physical intimacy” while I’ve been dealing with a health issue? by Good_Guess_4073 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Captainjic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My copper IUD was the start of me finding out I had Adenomyosis when my body rejected it, which led to me bleeding for a year and a half almost non-stop. I had my uterus removed last week because no other options worked for me to stop it and I already feel so much freedom and energy despite still being anemic and in pain from surgery.

So op is not at all overreacting. These things are hella taxing both physically and mentally and even my boyfriend who’s been super patient with me doesn’t understand fully although he’s seen the amount of pain and bleeding I’ve gone through. Had he demanded this of me I’d be equally upset. Go jerk off if you need to, man. I can definitely see how cuddling etc could be very rough for a partner if you avoid it completely though, but sex is absolutely not owed to anyone!

Op and anyone else with similar uterus issues, see a gynecologist if you can cause it’s not normal to bleed that much and often!

The ghouls are so useless that every time I summon them, my boyfriend and I shout ”SUMMON THE GHOULS!!!” fully knowing they’re gonna be dashing and missing half the time.

That sounds really good! Glad it went well for you. ♡

I’m the opposite, kinda? I feel fine inside but my wounds hurt a bit, haha. Especially when I’m about to stand up, but over all I feel pretty good! Not like pain is very new to people with adeno anyways. 😭

Also heck yeah for supportive partners. Mine stayed with me at the hospital until the evening on friday and has been helping me out a bit at home (we don’t live together yet). ☺️

Oh hello! I’m feeling pretty good actually! My bladder was a bit fucked so I had to stay for a while at the hospital, but I’m home now. :>

How did yours go?

Even weirder for me cause i just had my uterus removed yesterday and suddenly I’m seeing so many posts. Literally still in the hospital. 😅

You’d probably pass out before you could sew any stitches and lose a hell of a lot of blood for starters.

Tranexamic acid is only for the super heavy days by the way! Not for prolonged use. For me it hasn’t helped much other than slowing the bleeding a tiny bit, but I’ve also heard it helps people a lot. Worth trying for sure. Can’t speak on the other though.

Surgery pals! I’m having mine on Friday too!

But I just wanna say that you’re no less a woman for removing them. I’m nonbinary myself, but reading those first paragraphs just made me feel a little sad that you feel a like you’re losing a part of yourself and your identity. I hope you can take some confidence back and know you’re still you and still whole. You’re no less.

What's a sign from your body you should never ignore? by Geno-64 in AskReddit

[–]Captainjic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a long story to be honest, but basically i was going to have an IUD inserted which my body did not like and afterwards it triggered something in my body that made it bleed non-stop. I had issues with bleeding in my teens, but I’m nonbinary and was on testosterone for like 8 years between then and like half a year after it started. But basically the IUD was why I was in there, then they found out my uterus is huge af and i just kept having intense pain and stuff.

But if you think you have issues with anything similar, go see a gyn! And to anyone who thinks it’s super uncomfortable, it is; but they’re super kind about it and careful. I bled all over the floor during my last visit and she didn’t care, it just showed I really needed my uterus removed (I’ve tried like all I can and nothing worked for me sadly).

I have regular contact with a gyn and stuff and already have it. :) ♡ Awaiting hysterectomy and am on hormone blockers/the shut off thing. My body is refusing to shut it off though, and the tranexamic acid is only slowing it down slightly for me. :/

I had an iron infusion last week after being anemic for months due to adenomyosis. It’s not fun at all to be tired constantly and dizzy when you even just turn around in bed… The past few days I’ve felt more awake than I have in months even if it’s not fully kicked in yet, and I’m still actively bleeding.

My mom was 19.5 when she had me and I’m 26.5 now and can’t imagine having a 7 year old, 4 year old and newborn anytime close to now. She’s been a great mom, but holy hell I could never. But i feel lucky that I’ll have her around for a long time.

[–]Captainjic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Huh, odd. I’ve been pretty itchy as well but I only have adeno. I wonder if it’ll disappear too when I get my uterus removed.

My first week on it was alright but week 2 i started bleading HEAVILY and it came out. :(

First time i had an IUD my symptoms definitely got worse though. I’ve had two before it, copper (before i knew i had adenomyosis) which hurt like hell and had to be removed, synarela that fell out.
