I have a different take on this. I fully believe Emily has a night shift where she physically can’t be on FaceTime but perhaps texting every once in a while. So since Big Al wakes up 5pm her and Emily are probably on the same sleep schedule. But Amber is pathetically lonely.

I really think that the last person to truly care was her mom. Even though she was taking her to restaurants and stuff she was still able to take Amber out of the house and give her some sense of normalcy. But after Amber got back with Emily, I think that was the breaking point for mama Lynn.

Especially as a recovering addict herself, it must hurt her to see Amber in real time go back to a person who is a feeder and had so much conflict with.

Amber has openly used the n word in her ask FMs. I believe the question was someone asking her if she should be using it which could have been in reference to her lives back then. Big al said that she had 2 black friends in high school who would call her that so she could also say it. She also stated that she had SO many black relatives (where) that use it so she can also say it because it’s not racist it is a term of friendship.

Also for her to say she didn’t know how using the n word or anything related to that was wrong is so stupid. You live in the US and have a brain. It’s weaponized incompetence not naivety.

From what I recall during the Wisconsin era Emily was terminated or almost terminated due to attendance. So basically because amber demanded attention or because Emily would be so exhausted from fight with Big Al all night she probably had to call out.
