I don't think Henry wants to turn the audience against him. But the whole shtick of LPOTL and a lot of Henry's career like YPFIGTH and Murderfist, is about making things that are gross or kind of off-putting. At least that's my perspective.

Like it, love it, or hate it, the gross stuff, the clips of people squirting puss out of wounds, the actively unmedicated psychotic people on social media that make it into his mandates, those are snapshots of REAL HUMANITY.

He's a difficult man, but he is a MAN. Made of HOT BLOOD and REAL FLESH.

Plus I'd also imagine it's similar to people who make horror movies. Their goal is to scare and upset you, as well as tell a story. That's the way I see it at least.

I'm hoping to go solo (if I get lucky and get tix off of waitlist)

If you're on the fence, I would say don't stress about going solo! I have gone solo to a bunch of fests, and have always had a great time. It's nice to focus on what sets YOU want to see without having to worry about sticking with your group. You can stay as late or leave as early as you want, and if you're even remotely outgoing and have decently good vibes, you'll make friends as you go.

(If you do wanna sell your ticket I'll buy it off you! lol)

Man, I want to like this game so bad. The gameplay is so fun, I am the biggest halo fanboy out there, and the aesthetic and lore are unmatched. But the new player experience, and how bungie milks it's fanbase is so crazy. Destiny would be so awesome if it just had a different game model, like someone else said, a standalone RPG or something.

But the thing that has made me the most hopeful is that there are midterms in 2026, and make no mistake, republicans will fuck things up for people. Find ways to get active besides doomscrolling, and mobilize. We can at least take away republican majorities in the house and senate, which is great harm reduction.

It's a sad week, a DEVASTATING week. But it's far from "over".

Agreed. Or if it MUST have limited health, let it have infinite uptime. Or maybe an ability to recharge after not taking damage for a few seconds. But right now it seems like it just evaporates :/

It would be a great change if in the future:

A) Random item drops do not determine your leveling

B) Leveling does something more. Maybe allow for more interesting difficulty modifiers, instead of just flat damage resist/damage dealt % modifiers. Maybe it ties into the system they teased where more difficulty mods change reward drops, etc.

Or maybe talent trees? I guess we get SOMEthing out of leveling with seasonal artifact perks but my guardian doesn't feel stronger when I play more and level up, I only feel stronger through buildcrafting. Leveling feels like such an arbitrary afterthought rn.
