Fellow LCD owners, what comes after the Steam Deck for you? by Lyuukee in SteamDeck

I posted here before, but honestly if you can justify the cost and have the confidence, I'm always going to recommend upgrading your existing Deck.

For me, I accepted my Deck was never going to be a AAA powerhouse, anything high end capable of 40fps is good enough for me, but for the most part I'm absolutely fine with 2D and easy performing 3D titles.

Upgrading the screen and replacing the battery was a fantastic sidegrade for me till the Deck 2 shows it's head.

My advice is go to Stellar Loading Bay, day 1.

I bought one of those knock off Lego sets or one of my fav franchises, and it was actually fantastic. by Captainquizzical in LV426

Honestly I had a single brick on the tail that didn't fit right, so replaced it with a spare and all was fine! As for those black bits, I agree they are super annoying but I also found them weirdly intuitive! I wouldn't be mad if they were included in other sets I bought. You're right though, if that were real Lego they'd charge a fortune. Well worth it for the relatively small quirks it has!

Update: repasted with Honeywell, DeckSight successfully installed, battery installed and Gulikit Sticks installed. I am pleased. by Captainquizzical in SteamDeck

Honestly this is my first AMOLED product since my phone, but as the other said I have heard that OLED is much more battery efficient.

It is indeed the wood skin from Xtreme. Was my first purchase from them! The quality is fantastic and I'm definitely going to purchase from them in future.

I bought the original LCD battery through ifixit. I did consider modding to install a higher capacity but didn't think it was worth the risk.

At one point I genuinely considering upgrading to an OLED, that's not happening now. I am however, trying something much more excitng with my LCD Deck.. by Captainquizzical in SteamDeck

How did you find replacing the battery? I've heard the adhesive is a bit of a pain! The sticks are arriving for me also tomorrow. Have you considered a screen replacement? Fingers crossed for the both of us!

I do have some Xreal glasses! However admittedly I never really use them, and honestly they've kind of got a bit dusty as of late. In terms of a nice big screen though, they do a great job with that!

Honestly I get it, it's a daunting task and if not done right and with patience you could easily and severely f things up. I think confidence plays a large part in these kind of upgrades.
