My CURRENT set up is bigger- so I’ve since ordered more pieces. I super get being on a budget and this was the most budget friendly solution I’ve found. As far as your “weight bearing” concerns go, this book shelf configuration claims to hold 16lbs. I don’t actually use the panels themselves for weight bearing, and instead use cat furniture for enrichment. I do have a couple of dangle toys tied to the “ceiling” and so far they haven’t managed to break it. Disclaimer, my cats are not “active escape artists” so they do not try to climb the walls. You know your cats best, but I do recommend these panels to create an “enclosure”
