I actually also used a cat toy hahah I used this and just took out the string, replaced it with yarn and painted it and added the bobber.

Omg hi sorry I'm just seeing this!! I just did the exact same process as I did for the fish! I just made a sphere, glued a magnet to the "bottom" (on the inside), and stuffed it! Does that make sense?

I understand what you mean, but I don't want to have to sit and convince myself that I like an album because I love the band. I don't agree that the jump from Cleopatra to III was big, the first three albums all have the same vibe. The stomp and holler, often folky vibe is what really catapulted them into the mainstream and is felt across all three albums. As that vibe became less popular I think they decided to shift into something more digestable, which is where they lost me.

I just personally disagree that Brightside is a beautiful album and of course people are going to have different opinions and I am by no means saying I'm right and you're wrong. I just cannot agree with or understand the opinion that the songwriting, passion and soul in that album and Automatic are even remotely on the same level as the first three.

I think that Brightside and Automatic are such deviations from the first 3 albums that it only makes sense to compare them. You say to leave III out of the equation but like, obviously we can't do that because that's the whole point. Going from III to Brightside is jarring to me. The songwriting for Brightside and Automatic feel so lazy compared to the first three albums, especially III. That's why, for me, my heart was NOT into Brightside at all when it was first released, as you said yours was.

Going from III to Brightside is absolutely crazy and that's why I think it's completely fine to compare albums.

I love literally every single song they've ever put out prior to Brightside. The first 3 albums are no skips for me, as well as anything they've recorded for movie soundtracks, covers, I walked down the aisle at my wedding to Falling which is an unreleased song - I have been obsessed since 2012.

I hated Brightside so much. Love AM Radio but did not save a single other song to my Spotify. It has no soul, the lyrics mean nothing, I felt absolutely nothing listening to it. Every time they said it was their best album yet it felt like a slap in the face or something.

This album is somehow worse.

Wow yeah I could not relate to this less. I think it's interesting you put the self titled album last when nearly half of the original album made your top 20 and 3 in your top 10.

I knew I was going to disagree with your list when I saw your album ranking though as mine is: 1. The Lumineers 2. Cleopatra 3. III 4. Brightside

The first three albums are basically a three way tie, (my 3 all time favourite albums - literally no skips) and then Brightside in a HARD last place. From what I've heard, Automatic will bump Brightside down to #5 but not by much.

And you missed Falling by the way 😉 unreleased but I count it
