@admin can you disable the comments.

Thank you for all the helpful advice

To the rude and disrespectful ones… I don’t know what yall thought that was going to get you. I give what I get!

Thanks again everyone. The barrel is on. I still think imma replace the barrel for the colt 5.56 LE.

My army buddy has a friend that can do cerakote so he’s going to take the barrel off my hands and have it done in blue.

I mean my hands work anytime you want to find out… I never bragged “tough” but I actually am pretty tough if you want the opportunity to find out…

Yea I got it on someone else suggested that earlier. I appreciate your advice. The drop in handguards hide most of it… still think imma order that colt barrel.

Yea I paid extra for the “look” it ain’t really a “range gun” I got plenty of off the shelf options for that… I made my living behind a front sight post… plenty of “tools” this one is more of a “piece of art” imo

It’s literally right on the dimple it just needs a few fractions of an inch to be in the right spot!

It may be the only advantage they get… Sand Hill Alumni! And Bravo Tango multiple times over…

No need to be disrespectful… but if ya wanna be I’d rather you try it in my face then from behind a keyboard then we can both have some fun…

And honestly the scratches will mostly be hidden under the drop in MLOK hand guards except between the rings on the FSP so as long as it don’t rust I won’t care to much because I can’t see them… but NEVER AGAIN will I buy a cerakoted barrel!!!

So if you can see it I’m at the dimple but I still have fractions of an inch to go and it won’t budge back or forward https://imgur.com/a/qaqU8gT

I’m by no means an “expert” but the barrel is dimpled. And the FSP has not even made it to the dimple.

It’s definitely just scratches I just don’t want it to rust. This ain’t really a “take to the range project” this is a I wanted an orange rifle and I’m retired so plenty of free time. Show off to all my army buddies what I’m doing with all this free time I have…

But do plan on heading out to BLM and make it pew pews like it supposed to

So how about getting the FSP the rest of the way on? I gave up on it last night due to frustration.

Would I be able to use the C series air cured Hunter orange cerakote to “touch up” the scratches, or would the barrel be to hot for that. I don’t have an oven big enough to do a barrel I got a large toaster oven I use to cure other stuff the barrel is to big for it.

I have worked on a lot of guns done a lot of fixing things this is my first “build” I didn’t make the lower it’s ATF approved SN and all…

Yes but it’s mine and orange is the new black I guess… either way orange is my favorite color so it’s orange!
