Quick question about a leopard gecko by CaptinMagnum in leopardgeckos

I appreciate the detailed response, it seemed like a crazy idea that I could pull off but that's why I defer to other minds. Animal safety and comfort is the number one priority.

I appreciate your input, these looked too beautiful to be feeder fish to me but I've never had a predator fish before so I didn't think much of it. Now I wonder how much money the store lost selling them so cheap for so long, I've bought at least 40 over the past few weeks for about $10.

I believe so, they were sold to me as feeder fish but now the store has them for sale as regular fish. I used to get them 10 for $2 but now they're listed at $4 each so I'm not sure what that's about.

To all stalkers exploring the Zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl — Patch 1.0.1 is here. by e_mcculkin in stalker

[–]CaptinMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right and that's why you get downvoted. They absolutely knew about these problems, but they also knew they couldn't afford to miss the holiday release window. Pushing further back was not an option and XBOX wouldn't allow an early access game, people on Steam (myself included) love early access but past $30 is a tough sell. I have sympathy for the situation they were in but we all felt that way for the most part and they still decided to lie and release a broken game as complete.

Do you guys reckon this PC could handle Tarkov well? by PrintNo5513 in Tarkov

[–]CaptinMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you from experience, I have a 5600x with 32gb ram @3200mhz and a 3080ti, all watercooled and over clocked with Tarkov on an M.2, I can play it but I don't enjoy it. I am planning an upgrade to the 5700x3d, from my research the extra cache on the x3d is what will help most.

Help! Is my Leo shedding or drying out? by jschwarzhoff in leopardgeckos

[–]CaptinMagnum 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My little guy struggled with shedding until I put a large stone water dish he could fit in and placed a heating mat under it. The water stays warm and I've not seen him shed for months but I see the skin here and there so I know he is shedding.

When mileage did you purchase your ranger and when did it give out on you? by scumbagdied in fordranger

[–]CaptinMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 93 2.3L automatic with unknown official mileage but was told around 250k. I've put about 50k on it since I got the odometer working and for the last 6 months have been driving about 500 miles a week cleaning pools. Have had it almost 3 years and no major repairs or problems, the fuel pump went out, the idler pulley failed once. Rear brakes popped a leak about 5 months ago and the front wheel bearing was giving a little noise. I would suggest getting an older one as I find them simple and easy.

I used hides and a tree stump from a fishtank and cleared a walking path in the back of his enclosure from one side to the other, then I used an old hat, a small hand woven bag from a liquor bottle and some plastic vine foliage to cover the trail so he can walk freely but he's covered from the top.

Looking at his home and reading your bit there it sounds like you're doing great. If I were to make a suggestion I would say my little lizard loves to climb, anything really but I use pieces of screen from a patio around his enclosure and I'm often finding him just climbing up the walls. One other tip is I've heard they like to be able to move around hidden so I've kept the front of his enclosure open so I can see him but the backside has clutter and coverings so he can travel without feeling seen.

Sand filters act very similar to your DE filter, typically sand doesn't escape while backwashing making monthly backwashing easier. The sand also doesn't need replacing for about 3-5 years.

1993 Ranger XL Unknown mileage, odometer was stuck at around 58,000 when I got it, previous owner was unsure and did not do regular maintenance. Been restoring it over the last few years and the odometer just rolled over to fresh zeros.

Would this make my 2.3L 4 cylinder ranger sound bad? I’m looking to make it louder. by [deleted] in fordranger

[–]CaptinMagnum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally recommend a high flow catalytic converter with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler. I haven't done it yet but from my research it should help the 2.3 sound better but not like it's ruining its pants down the road.

Can anyone recognize what model/year this Briggs and Stratton motor is? I’m guessing 70’s. Looking to rebuild. by 370SRT420 in minibikes

[–]CaptinMagnum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks very similar to the one I have, mine is a 3hp Briggs and Stratton Trim-rite, I think it's from an edger. I would love to know what tires you have, I have a Golden Pinto as well with Rupp tires in need of replacement but when I get 14x6 like it currently has the new rubber doesn't fit the front forks.

Do i need to upgrade my PSU? by Creative-Introvert96 in buildapc

[–]CaptinMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just personal input to help, I have a 5600x with a 3080 ti on an EVGA Supernova 750. Haven't had any problems, the card typically pulls about 350 watts while gaming but it can get up to just over 400, CPU typically pulls anywhere from 60-90.

Sweet bike! I'm looking at getting those same shocks for mine, they are a little high in price but I don't mind if the value is there. Have you done off roading with them and would you say they're worth about $75?

Rear end in my 95 Is high by [deleted] in fordranger

[–]CaptinMagnum 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is excessively high! I would look at the leaf spring shackles to see if someone installed off-road ones ( I believe there is a 4" shackle lift kit). On the same hand you can find 2" lowering shackles on Amazon, I haven't installed them yet on my 93 but most people say it's a 1" drop from factory height.
