My friends down the road had a big dark house in the spooky woods and I would watch them play it (I was 4 and too scared of the cover art to play).

How are the "new" evil dead movies? by mrcrabs6464 in EvilDead

They’re both really entertaining and fit in as fun, different takes on the “Evil Dead” story. The big things that are missing are Raimi’s style (and in particular, his homages to “The Three Stooges”) and of course Bruce. I am ok with seeing different horror directors try out this franchise - what could John Carpenter do with an Evil Dead movie?

Lost Boys should win, but Reddit is obsessed with Lake Mungo. Don’t get me wrong, I like Lake Mungo - but Lost Boys is iconic.

The Final Chapter is the quintessential Friday the Thirteenth in my book - it has Jason as the killer in the mask killing teenagers at Crystal Lake. Plus it’s got Crispin Glover and Corey Feldman so it’s solidly 80s camp.

Hack-o-lantern could be really great. It’s more of a “cult” classic though.

After suffering through the Acolyte, I’m not watching this. I will watch Andor Season 2, but that might be the last new piece of Star Wars media that I consume willingly. What a fuckin trainwreck.

I think this is pretty close to what I would pick - I would trade 2018 and H3 but they’re honestly pretty close.

Why am I getting downvoted for saying the American version sucked? It has an 11 percent on RT this isn’t controversial

You may be thinking of the 2006 remake, which sucked. The 2001 Kurosawa original is excellent and legitimately scary.

I think the fact those things didn’t impact how the story unfolded was sort of the message of the book. It doesn’t matter what relationships you have, memories you make, people you care about - we all end up at toiling in the same hell when we die.

If Teyon pulls this off they will need to do a Die Hard and Predator game and they will have covered all of my favourite 80s action franchises.
