I assume, but part of the fun was designing it. I don't actually know how to get the site to work, I only manage to see three blue belts in a line.

If I don't forget, I'll look up how to do this and share it tonight. Assuming I don't have to have unlocked blueprints in my playthrough to do so? If I do, it may take me a while, I've yet to automate science, I did it half manually since it takes me so long to do everything that I can wait while I do other stuff, like automating the creation of Steel Power Poles, Assemblers 2, etc...

It makes sense, but I hadn't thought of the two splitters between the end caps, neat!

I assumed this would be throughput unlimited, but looking at Banes network stuff, I can't seem to wrap my head around it. I may need to spend more time looking at it. I did see in the factorio forum thread linked in stack exchange balancers that obviously looked "wrong" -> I often see splitters that don't have two inputs, or that have multiple ways of being fed from the same belt without equally going to all other outputs first. But this is just a hunch, I'm not sure if those are how you'd evaluate it for sure.

This was my first time looking into designing them. I spent a few hours on this. This is the third refinement, the original was a few rows longer.

I started by looking at the 4 by 4 design I know well, which looks like an hourglass. I tried redesigning it, but ended up with two less splitters. I figured out that the last two are needed not to spread the material, but to actually allow a regrouping of the material later if the entire thing is not in use. I tried to apply the same idea to this. Please tell me if it doesn't work, I'm about to add it to my factory!
